Are expectations lower in Italy because the Euro's are Spaletti's first tournament? No. I think Canada is at the point where we do need to set the bar high with this team. New manager or not results are expected in world football. I expected Canada to win against Peru and I'm glad they grinded out that result. Chile are probably going to play a more technical game than Peru did but if Argentina is any indication I think that Canada is more suited to play that kind of game. Defensively the team does need to be much tighter. Crepeau has been outstanding to say the least, they need to be better in front of him. Let's get this result and advance!

What we need to do against Chile is push them around. We can dominate Chile through our strength, size, and conditioning. But we also need to "play the game" of dark arts- we need to pull jerseys, elbow guys in the head when the ref isn't looking, we need wrestle guys to the ground during set plays/ corner kicks... We need to treat this match like it's a kill or be killed knife fight in a back alley on East Hastings... And our players must defend the goal with their lives- like Crepeau did against the Philadelphia Union in the MLS Cup finals. If we do these things we should win.

They should not play for a draw, that would be a mistake because Chile wont be playing for a draw, that is so naive, see, not enough FB IQ to even suggest that 😅 Canada needs to win and play for nothing less than the win - that said, i really do hope Canada gets through cuz then they can really experience what knockout football really is and that will be a great reference point and learning experience for the world cup in 2026, so i really hope they do make it to the next round for that reason alone
