Happy for Forge, i hope the CAN Premier league will continue to evolve and challenge the MLS teams year after year. As a fan of CF Montreal, If the higher ups don’t see how their mismanagement of the roster (read not paying a local kid the money he is DUE) has affected EVERYONE from the general manager (who left), the coaches, the players and us, the fans, who have already suffer from their mismanagement in the past (The Wilfred Nancy saga is the one that comes to mind, but we could mention the change of brand (they made up for it after, I’ll give them that), it’s more than time to WAKE UP before this season goes to waste before the half way point…

No, they didn't. TFC crushed Montreal and Ottawa crushed Valour earlier on. I think Forge may have been slightly lucky to get the win (some good goal keeping and all out defending to pull out the win).

Straight up embarrassing.. proves that the MLS is still far from an Elite league, and SHOULD have a promotion/relegation system. But nooooo because then the league wouldn’t have full control of what’s going on.

I agree with promotion/ relegation. Now, what lower tier league would you involve? CPL on the Canadian side, but what about the USA? What are the leagues? Do they match CPL level? Should we have quotas? Also, one bad season start for a team does not mean the whole league is bad. It is a long season and MLS teams have done well in Concacaf Cup including this year.

Reality is Saputo is incompetent. He has let key personnel go and has not made any significant investment. I don’t see things changing as long as he is the owner.

Saputo cares far more about Bologna than Montreal. And there is a reason for that. He makes money by having a team in Serie A. He doesn't make money in MLS. Hence, his priorities.

@@demarcdegasol Did he sell it? No. On top of that MLS franchise prizes are completely artificial. Next year Garber might convince someone to pay $1 Billion for a franchise, but that wouldn't make every MLS franchise worth of $1 Billion. The fact is that MLS is barely breaking even and that with all the profits from new expansion fees, a ton of money from the Addidas deal + the Apple deal.
