The return of Demarai Gray and Damion Lowe made the difference. Gray also gave Leon Bailey 2 chances to score and Lowe made a crucial tackle to win the ball and pass to Nicholson to score our first goal. Lowe also made another tackle and made another cross into the box that led to the penalty for the winning goal.

@sowaveysuyat7 ай бұрын
Yes there is but this is actually the most successful time in Canadian Football history.. I don't know why Canadians think Canada is supposed to be some powerhouse footballing nation... we should be grateful how far its come in the last 5-10 years, during my generation just before that, there was f***all here and all talent went to waste, literally. Minus the few players who were able to find a way out to get to Europe. There's only 8 pro CPL teams, their funding is significantly lower than the MLS clubs. Attendance numbers for CPL is tiny compared to MLS which means the money pumped back into Canadian football full circle to real grassroots level to local professional opportunity at home is still very small. The Canadian football system is a third world level in terms of structure and competitiveness.. there isn't even a 2nd division of professional football here.. the closest is L1O and I'd guess at least 90-95% of those players are not being paid. At bare minimum, If we compare other nations around the world with a similar population, ~37-40million people, in order for Canada to actually have a close-to first class football system, there would have to be at least 16 professional first division teams, and minimum 16 official 2nd division pro/semi-pro teams, along with the 3rd tier systems and below.. even if there will be no promotion/relegation system. And in order for that to be a reality, there must be alot more demand from the population to sustain football clubs.. otherwise they will constantly fold or go defunct.. funding is huge, and if fans are not interested in seeing football, then there isn't much that can be improved past a certain point. The national team is simply a reflection of the overall system within a nation, not the individual players who made it overseas, given different factors like population size. Given that Jamaica, a nation of 2.8 million, compared to Canada of 38 million.. Jamaica has more pro teams (14) and equally as much of their national team is playing in foreign leagues around the world.. yet Jamaica is able to knock Canada out of a tournament while Canada is playing at home. Nevermind the fact that Canadian football leagues (amateur, semi pro) only operate for 5 months out of a year is a joke. You have frauds in positions of power within the soccer system who can't even figure out that players should be playing in competitive league play at minimum 10 months out of the year... instead they allow competitions like L1O to sit idle for 7 months when there should be an extension of the season into the winter (playing indoors). Everywhere else in the world, players are developing while Canadian leagues sit idle and players are forced to play 7v7 indoor leagues and money tournaments. Look at the CPL, it goes from April 15 - October 7... that is a laughable joke.

PLEASE GET RID OF MAK, HE'S SIMPLY NOT INTERNATIONAL CLASS. Start developing new talent like Ahmed. Otherwise, if you're going to play offensively supposedly to your strength, then guys like Larin and David NEED to put the ball in the back of the net. Larin has an entire goal and passes to Blake to save. David is given a header on a platter and it's grossly over the crossbar. Defensively I just don't get how they seem to let opposing players find the perfect position time in and time out. No one seems to get punished the way Canada does, and so that suggests to me that defensively, there's something not quite right. Also, Borjan just doesn't seem to be the shot stopper I thought he was. In this match as well as in the NL finals, he just doesn't make the saves one could make.... not all of the time but at least some of the time. Jamaica's 2nd goal is through the legs. Jamaica's first goal was a meter to his right.

When you are up 3-1 on the aggregate & you play that sloppy defensively, don't expect to go far in competition. There is no excuse for this nonsense. You need to defend well with your lead in your own backyard! Canada did not do what the soccer Gods have taught from day 1! It is quite a embarrassment no matter how you look at it. Too much reckless, fancy falling the REF did not buy into it & we got caught big time! A huge lesson for the next times indeed. Shameful to the bone. And the drama going on the field was a real embarrassment with players faking injuries & wasting time. What happened to the integrity of the game. Go watch the games in the 70's and that is how you should be playing the game. Ball control & ball management were poor with the lead. We have a lot of work to do!
