The MV subs are actually the lyrics to the English version of the song. So all the "my body wants you bare" lines are actually "my body remembers" 💀 Malus is a a genus of apple tree and also the masculine form of the Latin adjective meaning "bad" or "evil". It's where the modern word "malice" comes from. And yes, as a longtime fan it has been incredibly rewarding watching them grow and evolve with each comeback!

Thanks for pointing out about the subs. It's been bugging me. I noticed some twtr comments of people understandably reacting to the line "my body wants you bare" and I was silently screaming, "nooo that's not what Seoho's saying!" When Seoho starts singing "My body remembers", you know immediately that this song is about a lost love, but "my body wants you bare" states a desire and can be about an ongoing affair. It's good that the English version of the song is not just a straightforward translation of the Korean version, but why on earth did rbvv have to use the differently worded English version as the CC. I hope rbvv learns from this. Having said that, it ended up being an excellent attention grabber...hey, then, was it planned? Anyway, thanks.

Malus - I assume personally they were going for the Latin I think so related to ‘wicked, bad, evil, mischievous’ so I thought with the sentence ‘do you have a malus too?’ Is like saying what’s your vice, your weakness or part of you that’s like your Achilles heel. The link to the Apple as the Apple 🍎 was on the tree of the forbidden knowledge. Curiosity killed the cat kind of thing so it was a ‘vice’ or failing in the person that effects their choices. Leedo has a vice of serenity so maybe he’s too calm about things he should be much more animated about. The fact this is in a chill Sunday morning playful everyday scene with clearly someone else he maybe is saying the simple serene life is his temptation. Water for him was a cleansing playful element. Seoho was daydream so he lets his mind indulge and perhaps looses his focus on reality at times. He has the pomegranate which also in some cultures believed as the fruit of temptation, wink 😉 also fertility and he’s certainly showing some of his ‘appeal’ lol 😂😈. The water here a kind of medium for him a thirst quenching which is even in his lyrics. Hwanwoong greed for more is his cross to carry and it might be for more opportunities or achievements but also self improvement it can be anything but it’s sometime what blinds him to what he has already. He vibrates with glitter or sparkle ✨ a link to the greed for more not just monetary advances. There is no water here and the what might be a plum of temptation is only seen when he’s blinded by it so maybe he’s missing the water in the blind search for more. The plum in symbolism as perseverance and hope as well as beauty thriving in adversity much like the cold sparkly place he’s in he is thriving and craves more. Ravn has issues with control, perhaps always being in it and having all the elements strapped in means he can loose the touch of creative expression that comes with a little spontaneity or the magical combo that leaping into the unknown can bring. There is no water just metronomes regulating everything but a bowl of very juicy raspberries grasped in his hand leaves a smudged mark on his lips, perhaps too much control can make him both unable to benefit from the creative impulses but also controls his palette and other senses till he grabs at it in outbursts. Keonhee can be too solitary and isolate himself. while being comfy in your own company is good it can pull you away from fun times and experiences too that you do want but forget to push yourself out the hermit shell once in a while. He has a black snake, I can’t identify the breed, perhaps a racer black but the belly looks mostly black and ever the ‘black snake’ is mean to have a white belly. considered cold they are quite warm to the touch but tend to be more solitary. the black makes me think of cleopatra and the asp she asked for in the basket of figs. Now he’s not handling an asp and the film is a theatrical version of her death which scholars say was prob just poison she drank but it’s a visual similarity. Here he’s in a black and white world with his mind his escape but in his isolation he has nothing to interact with. I’m reminded of the symbolism being repeated with fig leaves being used to cover humans upon their enlightenment and awareness but that figs too are in the running for forbidden fruit in some cultures and again links in others to it being a symbol of power of women but also fertility again. Xion maybe feels his innocence is his weakness as the Maknae but essentially just a young guy he maybe feels like he just doesn’t know anything about anything and so while innocence can be a virtue it can turn into ignorance if you can’t learn and spread those baby chick wings when the time comes. Perhaps his fears of doing well, becoming more knowledgeable and confident will be the wings for him in the end. He is surrounded by flowers, dandelion and the water in his is frozen🧊 so he needs to thaw naturally and when the right breeze comes become like the dandelion. He’s eating a cherry, which makes me think of innocent as we often link youth ‘popping’ that innocence and that’s not just a sexualised way it can just be from youth to adult or boy to man etc. A notice that nearly all have the element of water in their scenes too, but that each has a different fruit that all link to the forbidden fruit or symbolism. I’m wondering if these points would even link back to previous lore as I’ve seen the gods/vampires story fit in most of their mvs from debut to now, some in big and some in small ways. Anyway this was a random ramble. Lol just theories while watching. Glad you enjoyed and added the solo teasers cause I think it adds to the MV seeing the set up, but the MV teasers gave way too much song away.

oneus just constantly outdo themselves it's true! this has got to be their best album so far. EVERY SINGLE track is just perfection and seoho's (suh-ho) vocals throughout are stunning. he's the one who was doing all the high note adlibs at the end of same scent as well!

Thanks for the reaction! The members participated a lot in this album (like in all the previous too): Hwanwoong is the Performance Director this time!! Si proud of him! Ravn, Seoho and Leedo are credited as lyricists and composers: Ravn have 6 lyrics credits and 2 in composition; Leedo 5 in lyrics and 1 composition; Seoho 1 of lyrics and composition (in a total of 7 songs for this mini album) The water choreography is Beautiful 💖

When you said you weren't going to pause I knew you would pause lol. I paused sooo much during the teasers. Especially on Leedo, Seoho, and Keonhee's teasers (Leedo and Seoho are my biases so no surprise, but Keonhee bias wrecked the hell outta me!). And Seoho is pronounced more like 'So-ho' where the e is basically silent, but not really (confusing I know). Keonhee is the same (silent-ish e, but again, not really). Leedo has a silent L (this time actually silent). Xion is pronounce 'She-on' (same pronunciation as Siyeon from Dreamcatcher). Hwanwoong has a silent second w (pronounced Hwan-oong). Ravn is pronounced like the bird.

ONEUS , the gift that keeps on giving and we, as a community, are not appreciative enough tbh. Now I’m not gonna lie to you, not all their songs are my cup of tea but it is undeniable that they’re constantly giving quality regardless of the genre and concept. I really thought that the MV would be a lot more sexy just based on the MALUS/sins concept but it was surprisingly tame compared to some of their other MV. I think the sexiness came through in the vulnerability that they showed in openly singing about their strong love for someone… Am I looking to far into it? Anyways, I LOVED it! It is definitely not the type of sound that would be considered “trendy” nowadays but that’s actually what I enjoyed most about it since it reminded me of 2017 era (give or take). I also believe that this song is one of the most easy to listen to on a first listen which might appeal to a broader audience. Which brings me, share this MV with everyone lol Let’s not gatekeepe ONEUS, their talent and songs should be known by more people!

As a Seoho (so-ho) bias….. I died when his teaser dropped 😭 changed the trajectory of my life fr Also, cmiiw but the eng lyrics in the mv are the lyrics from the english version of the song, not actually translated from the korean that they’re singing!
