Onewheel Gt 1st Group Ride: Can GT Float With GTS

I'm 72 and I got a GT last year on my 71st Birthday. I don't know anyone else in my small town who has one so I've only ridden solo. I really love how riding my OW makes me feel like a 17 yr old! Thank You for this Video! U - B - da coolest!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I don’t even worry about it. It’s growing slowly. Wait a min. I’m lying. I check them subs everyday 🤣 I guess I just set small goals. Next will be 900. I’m almost there. At the end of the day I got to have the watch hours. So I’ll have the subs before. It’s all good. I definitely appreciate it you. If you’re ever in the area let me know. We’ll get a float in 🏄🏾‍♂️

I remember being nervous on my first group ride now I go anytime I can something about riding with a bunch of people that enjoy the same thing seems to feed the fire and a great opportunity to learn try things you wouldn’t get any other way

This video is super entertaining. Your discussion on whether you need to go from GT to GTS was excellent. I weigh the same as you and wondered if the GTS could help prevent a potential nosedive. I rarely trigger haptic buzz on my GT, so can't really say extra speed would be necessary for me. I like the GT range too!

Yes. You sound just like me. Comfortable with the current speed. Imagine nosediving at 25 🤣 I don’t think I could trust going that fast. Unless you’re a racer are a larger person I don’t see the benefit, but everyone is different. Some the GTS is a better board. I just don’t see it. I also haven’t gone for a long ride on 1. I just love the GT. Especially with the upgrades. It’s sweet ☺️

No group rides yet. I feel iffy about not knowing someone well enough to ride with them. Was the same when I rode motorcycles. I love the video, seeing around town is all me.

For real. We have this group for a while and some the guys had been trying to get me out but I never felt comfortable. Like I needed to level up. But now I’m all for it. Just took the 1 time. The support from fellow Onewheelers is awesome. Like a team. Really. You gotta try it my friend. I think you’ll love it 😊

I love the down to earth demeanor you have in your videos, I commented a few videos ago, and since then I ended up getting a used GT that had not yet been updated to the Haptic Buzz firmware, and honestly love it, I am looking forward to trying to go on group rides once I am near an area that has groups again, but I am glad you are happy with your board, float on my friend.

I found that GTS and Floatwheel owners are the same when they meet other riders. They love to flex their boards on the plebs. 🤣 GTS and ADV guys love to race ahead of the group or find some stupid reason to climb the steepest hill in area. If you’re on a Pint or XR and you’re with these guys, RIP. Don’t get even get me started on what the Floatwheel guys does during breaks or in between charging.

Seems like every roup ride I've been to, someone always gets hurt. I"m there to float and carve. Speed is not my deal. If I could find folks to chill and ride, then I"m down but most just want to go fast. I'm cool.

My guy. It held up great. I don’t know how many miles we did but my homie didn’t have any problems and we were out for a couple hours. It is a beast but with the modifications I have I love my board 💯

I haven’t tried the kush wide but I can tell you i love the air pad. It’s wide and the concave is spread out. Plus the 4mm hex grip. It’s pretty sweet. I hear the kush wide is nice too.

My guy to be honest I do sometimes as well. I had seen many people do it and thought how foolish. No grip no helmet…but then u try it and you understand. It feels amazing. Won’t if you fall but it really feels different. Barefoot too. I definitely wouldn’t do it on video 🤣 I’d never hear the end of it but up and down my block, especially with the temp about 70 it feels great. Like I said though, won’t if I eat it 🏄🏾‍♂️ I don’t do it often

@@garyfreeman896 you are right. I fly drones professionally and eventually they end up falling out the sky. Electronics eventually feel. Definitely gambling. I know I’ll fall again. Just hope I’m ready. I’ve fallen 4 good times. Each time getting better at running it out. The last time I actually did run it out and still got injured. Tweaked my knee and banged my heel. It’s addicting though. I really love carving and listening to tunes. Have you tried 1? I have some longboard friends suggesting I get a longboard.
