Was a bit tough watching the bearings being hammered in.

Eh they'll be alright lol

Yeah that was full cringe. You can press bearings in with an extended c clamp, a car jack.. or even a bearing press !! Never ever hammer a bearing in.

What was the trick to getting the tire on
@tanmaybhattacharya974910 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. How did you get the flight fender to work with the gt fender delete. Does it need any modifications?
@AlexLepoutre9 ай бұрын
Yep, I cut the fender delete with a dremel at the point where the FF fender starts and tried to make it as seamless as possible, but it's not perfect 😂

What was the secret to getting the other end of that hub into the tire?
@AlexLepoutre9 ай бұрын
Hah, it was using a concrete slab with a hole in the middle underneath some carpet to get better leverage.

What magnet strength are you riding? Was there any noticeable difference in torque and/or speed from stock GTS?
@AlexLepoutre9 ай бұрын
N52 magnets on the MTE. I felt the slightest of torque bumps, but it could also just be placebo. Would make sense if stock GTS is N50 to feel an ever so slight increase.

Nice. I’m riding n52 on Enduro 655. Loving it.
@andyrodriguez85074 ай бұрын
Oddball question, would you say that the 555 gives you Pint-esque levels of nimbleness? Im really torn between the 655 and the 555, id love to make the GT more nimble.
@AlexLepoutre3 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late reply! But yes I'd say the 555 is definitely more nimble than the 655. 655 for stability, 555 for nimbleness.

Was there a hit on range? I’ve been trying to find that answer. Would love some feedback!
@AlexLepoutre14 күн бұрын
Nothing significant that I've noticed, but haven't done any super scientific range tests.

Would have been nice if you actually said something about the ride vs just showing video of a ride...looked about the same as the rest. So, better? Worth it? Also, how about on street as I'm not one for getting the board dirty...and dont do tricks...just cruise street. Want this set up though...
@AlexLepoutre9 ай бұрын
I'm more of a show rather than tell kind of guy, but if the people want more talk talk I can maybe try to accomodate 😂 I try to give the best, no bs summary I can in the description of my videos if you are ever wondering. It is absolutely better and worth it.. though maybe less so if you don't like to get your board dirty lol. On the street, I pump it up from 8 psi to about 12 and it turns into the most magical floating machine. Still feels plenty stable while absorbing all the bumps and dips in the road, feels like a true "floating" experience. It also helps cushion curb drops and such.

Can you really say the hype is real when you spend that much on a board and then still have to swap out a hub thats shit for one that fits any tire ? All this when you could have made or bought a vesc board thats 1, faster 2. More tuneable 3. Climbs better 4. Has better range 5. Is LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE 6. can be repaired by you 7. Cannot be bricked by a forced update Floatwheel or a flowglider box is a much better option good video though, looks like fun trails
@laurentbeauregard466610 ай бұрын
A lot of people have no desire to figure out the VESC settings that come with a float wheel, use crypto, and wait the 60 days that FW estimates to ship your board to you. Currently FW doesn’t offer a 5” hub so you would have to do a hub swap on a ADV anyways if you wanted a 5” tire. Which isn’t an option because their stator is a whole different size.
@AlexLepoutre9 ай бұрын
Well, the hype I was referring to was for the 5" MTE specifically here, which isn't included on a Floatwheel either. Yes, this is a far more expensive build than you can get with a VESC, but for the price I'm getting a simple, out of the box and ready to go software experience that's easy for a simpleton like me to understand. I'm not worried about hitting any speed beyond 25 mph as I typically only average up to 20 on trails anyway. The "Climbs better" scenario has been fixed with the latest firmware which includes Gradient Tracking. The range is plenty for the type of trail riding I do, and I prefer how much lighter the board is as a result compared the the GT and especially the Floatwheel. Lastly, I don't have to worry about the Floatwheel dumping me unexpectedly at speed if a cell happens to be imbalanced. That one is a big one for me. I'm all for supporting riders to ride what they want, VESC or FM, I really don't care. What is strange though is how much VESC people try to push their preferences on others, while GTS owners like me are too busy out riding and enjoying their board. You do you, my friend! 😊

@@AlexLepoutre mic dropped, I agree with your last sentiment. If something is really that much better, you don’t need to shout at everybody to convince them it’s better, It would be apparent. Ride whatever you want and quit being so hostile (not directed at you), people should be able to ride whatever they want and not get flack from other riders.
