I definitely think that the mat is mostly used for (specifically) apartments that only have carpet because everytime I do come home, the board stands against my wall with the dirt fall onto the carpet. At the same time, it's much cheaper to buy a rubber mat at literally anywhere else, but because my local shop had them in stock, I wanna support them (even though they hardly get anything out of that profit margin, but still)

I just use my garage floor. Specifically wherever my wife tells me to kick my dumb garbage so it's out of the way. My eskate though...I bought a nice little sofa for it.

Dang. Eskates are spoiled huh? Haha Yeah I mean that totally works. It's interesting to hear how everyone stores their Onewheel. I used stands from day one so just feels so convenient haha. Also saves space.

Slide Wreck Dan Well, I've got a Metroboard X and I'm building a high end board from a Bustin Sportster, so they get a little more pampering than the OWs. But generally I keep them on a charger sitting up against a wall. One day I'll build a stand for them.

It's such a niche market too, but yeah the accessories aren't cheap unfortunately. I think they are pretty proportionate to the price of the Onewheel so.. Nice to meet you too!

Until I either buy or make a stand, I’m using one of my old card mats to put my pint on. It works, but unless it’s put on there just right it’ll ty to roll down the wall and das is not good

The OW mat is actually only somewhat more expensive than buying rubber drying mats. $30 vs $45 basically, before you factor in shipping & tax. But let me address why a mat instead of a stand. Many riders especially newer riders will ride thru moisture and lowkey rain. The OW can handle basic moisture exposure while riding, but the seals are not sufficient for constant water pressure which can happen when you hang the board vertically. When laying down however everything will drain out relatively safely. I do agree however about the problem of Future Motion in general. They don’t engage well with customers or the community at large, and they ironically seem frustrated that the community won’t follow their lead instead of the other way around. Typical brand arrogance. Last note: I hated “float” for a minute. It eventually grew on me but I still won’t call people “floaters”... cuz 💩

If you can spend over a thousand bucks on a onewheel, a lot of people will be willing to spend 45 bucks on a complementary mat. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don't know much about the company but it doesn't sound like they are in need of cash, they are just doing what a lot of companies do.

So for folks like us, it's just absurd of a price tag. And even 'rich' people I don't think like to spend too much money that they don't need to spend. But now it's like a flex item lol

I think it's a good idea, but seems pricey. I've been wiping my onewheel down after every ride. I think buying a towel to lay it on would save me money over buying this product.

Well, maybe that’s true and 1 year, 3 months and 655 miles later my Onewheel + still works and runs fine. Just like my iPhone continues to work and run and cause me no issues.

Starting to lose faith in FM with their CS issues in the 4211 XR and money grab with this mat. What would you do if FM went under? EUCs are starting to make big jumps in terms of development 👀

There's a lot of EUC companies out there now. It's definitely evolved over the past 2 years *no pun intended* I still love my Onewheel and it has its purpose though. The 4211 issue is uhhh. Yeah that is quite alarming as well. 😬😬😬 Overall quality control might be suffering here? I've seen several posts about even lights not working brand new and stuff. They may need to update the method of QC at manufacturing. It's costing the company money too so.
