A few comments to make. I got Air New Zealand gold through status match last month. Hence the lounge and free Space+ seat :) Arriving into Australia was fairly simple. We were told to remain seated once the seatbelt sign in off. The crew said we had to wait for the police or something to give us the approval to leave. This is probably so we don’t mix with travellers not within the green zone/travel bubble. After about 10 mins we were allowed to disembark. Immigration was as per usual (as in pre-COVID). Same as customs, no COVID related questions or interviews. No temperature checking as well. (Australia-based viewers only) You can support me financially (for free!) by signing up to Cashrewards and ShopBack using my special code. You’ll earn money, and so will I! Personally, I used ShopBack to book my Air New Zealand flights and earned several bucks back. I also used Cashrewards when I shopped online at Target and earned 20% cashback! Look into the Mount Erebus disaster. Are you willing to trust an airline that: 1. Made an egregious mistake and hide it from their pilots 2. Denied making the mistake 3. Lied about doing it to the World 4. Tried to cover it up before people uncovered it 5. When they finally admitted making the mistake tried to explain it away as just an error 6. Paid no reparations to families after the fact If you want to forgive and trust an airline that can do that, then YOU go and spend your money with them. I'm not prepared to reward them for their actions when there are other airlines that can take me and WHO have a better safety record on the same routes! What a fantastic airline Air New Zealand is! I think they bring back the true flight experience - a gorgeous newer aircraft with a beautiful interior, great service and excellent food. I'd say the price was worth it. As always, you got some amazing shots - particularly near the beginning, of the A321 with the beautiful mountain backdrop. Regarding the Q&A - the IL-96-300 is more like the A340-200 in terms of pax capacity (262 mixed) and the PS-90A2 engines delivery similar output to the CFM56 engines. Cubana is the only airline operating passenger services with it, so opportunities to fly on one are few! Great trip report, as always!

Hi Jayden. I bet you have many of us jealous with this video. Leaving Australia for a quick trip and back across the ditch, and not getting caught in any snap lockdowns !😂 The last ( and only ) time I was in Queenstown was 1976. I had flown from Melbourne to Christchurch to do a bus tour around both islands. It was also my first trip overseas and my first time flying. While in Queenstown, I went on a sightseeing flight in the tiniest Cessna I think existed ! I was okay...until it was time to land the plane. The pilot switched everything OFF, and glided in onto a grass runway ! Air New Zealand was great to fly then, they have always had a great reputation. Those Airbus 321 engines sure sound different and quieter to a 737.

My tip is to have a short getaway, not long! So less likely to get stuck overseas or in another state haha! The landing you had in Queenstown sounded heaps fun! And very lucky you got upgraded, cabin looked beautiful, indeed CFM LEAP is very quiet, but the idling was exactly like CFM56, and the spool up similar to GE90😳 The lamb at the lounge looked decent, and the food at the aircraft looked amazing, beef casserole and the brownie 😋, wish I could eat that by the screen 😂, indeed a very goNZ 1st impression of Air NZ. Isn't it amazing that Qantas just can't manage to open their lounges up to this standard.... so glad you managed to escape the country lol
@JaydenWong3 жыл бұрын
unfortunately covid restrictions in Australia (e.g. buffet still not allowed in some states) means Qantas has to be behind Air NZ in this instance :(

Awesome video, that view is breathtaking. Looks similar to the Canadian Rockies 😀

@16:59 Whenever I see that I always wonder where the water in that bottle came from. Is it really bottled water or are they just refilling from the sink in the lavatory?
@JaydenWong3 жыл бұрын
Good question, I wonder too! hopefully bottled water, during meal service it was directly from bottled water

@@JaydenWong I once took the 16.5 hour Qantas DFW-SYD flight. It's night time the entire flight. The FA"s were serving water out of these 2 liter pictures that had LED lights in the pour spout so they could see what they were doing in a darkened cabin. I thought that was pretty ingenious. Perhaps it's those kind of details you'll be developing in your future job!

Superb video as always! THIS IS EXACTLY HOW A NARROWBODY ECONOMY CLASS SHOULD LOOK LIKE!🤩 This makes me wanna try Air New Zealand, will certainly add them to my list. My friend flew on NZ on their 772 to Auckland for a school trip before covid and he had a great experience too. Thanks for sharing this with us especially in a time when we're all so flight-deprived.😁👍🏻 Is it legit that you can't use mobile phones in Australian airports before you clear immigration as mentioned in the after landing announcement?😂
@JaydenWong3 жыл бұрын
totally! legroom, tv, USB and USB-c port etc. Yep no phone allowed until custom is cleared. USA too actually but Australia is stricter in my experience. They sometimes yell at you, oi! 😂

The way that you say One World Flyer Squad sound like that one 2010 meme song lol. I can even imagine the song in my head.

Jayden, I just loved this video! One of your best! BTW : How can we do a status match, I'm a Diamond status with Japan Airlines.
@JaydenWong3 жыл бұрын
Lmao! Bobby- I did it through Air NZ's website. They're currently not offering status match. But keep an eye on them and the aviation forums. United, Turkish and Qatar are among the ones that offer status match the most :)

I flew with Air New Zealand in 1991 from London Gatwick to Los Angeles then to Auckland and then on to Melbourne Such a shame that Air New Zealand dont fly in to London anymore
@JaydenWong3 жыл бұрын
totally! I almost flew them Hong Kong to London in 2014. Flew Cathay instead. Later that year they scrapped the route :(
