Notice how empty the levels are. They're just big wide areas with little enemies you can just walk around without even having to do any dodging. Then they just put a bunch of crate structures into the big empty levels to make it seem like theres stuff going on

The Lego games are garbage. There is no challenge and every single level is riddled with """""""""""""puzzles"""""""""""""" that you can only do with a certain character that you gotta grind for to be able to buy. Not doing the secret stuff is unfun and boring and honestly doing the secret stuff is also boring because its rarely ever satisfying. Its not even worth it for the story because its unfunny, childish and usually based on a movie so you already kind of know how i will end. Also every Lego game is the exact same formula they never add anything new to it besides a few minor things to trick you into thinking the game is different

I would argue the Lego games are well designed for what they're going for. They're good games if you just play the occasional one now and then.

+MrPizzaslice That's the problem with formulaic games. While I think the Lego games can be good for mindless fun, it gets really repetitive when they are all the same game with different themes. They aren't the worst offenders for cookie-cutter design, and there certainly are games like that without any enjoyment factor whatsoever, so the main problem I have with them is how dismissible they are to the point where you can pick any one of them from a whole collection and experience essentially the same game.
