10:50 this is actually a serious issue a lot of people with adhd have, including myself. I recently got a job at a grocery store and every time i zoned out or got distracted by something, my superior would yell at me. I never even told him or my employer i had adhd, i just quit and went to a different job. that "superior" i worked under got chewed put by my employer at the time due to him being tough on me and the other employees. now i am happier at my new job where all of my superiors treat me nice and they also havent been told that i have adhd because i do not want to be treated differently than everyone else. treat everyone nice regardless of if they have a mental disorder or not, imo.

For the doordash door post. people have stormdoors/screen doors most of those open outward while the second/actual front door opens inwards, depending on your door and how or what they leaned on it, it could make it hard to open the storm door. i don't have context or care enough to find the post, but it could've been some severe shit. it's not crazy that someone would be relieved if the bullying was traumatic. when you hear about kids as young as 9 hanging themselves over it, it's hard to not think that maybe he didn't have a lot of support or had a rough home life, and that bully could've done some lasting emotional or physical damage. not saying it's healthy, but it's not shocking.

Most disabled people, if we can get away with it, don't disclose any of our disabilities because we'll either 1) never get a job no matter how qualified we are for it, or 2) they absolutely do treat disabled people differently. Exactly, holy shit. I love these guys but when it comes to talk about disabilities, they seem to not have a firm grasp on a lot of it. I applied for like 200 jobs when I was 18 and always disclosed I was autistic and 7 of them responded back. I reapplied to around 50 of those jobs decided not to say I was autistic and 40 responded back quickly. I think a lot of people who don't have mental disorders misunderstand them badly, like people thinking ADHD just means that you're bouncing off the walls 24/7 or how people think autism just means being a literal knuckle dragging idiot. It sucks and I'm sorry to everyone (including you) that has to mask their disabilities/disorders and just tough it out, I know it's rough :/

I was horribly bullied in elementary school, and backstabbed in middle school. You have to let that shit go, or you're miserable. Most doors do open in but most houses around me have a second glass door that opens outward. But as a delivery person it's pretty obvious if you are putting food in front of a door that swings out like just some awareness to avoid that. I had made a separate comment on this, but to include it in a started thread, it's also regional. Place like Florida that suffer from the occasional heavy wind based natural disaster normally have front doors that open outward to prevent from the doors being blown in. There are exceptions from time to time like houses with screen enclosures or alcoved entryways, but it's not the standard. I don't know how it is in other states with similar problems, but around here, if it isn't part of the building code for new properties, it's at least a standard

Definitely. Just because they can’t fire you for a specific thing doesn’t mean they won’t - they’ll use some other reason to mask it. And it’ll always be on their mind whenever you make a mistake or there’s tension. I’ve seen it happen to others and had it happen to me (they knew I took medicine and it was unavoidable not to tell them bc it was overseas and needed to be on paperwork) so I just don’t say anything. Go to work, do your best, come home.

The ADHD bear one was kind of relatable to me, I was diagnosed (idk if diagnosed is the right word for ADHD and autism) with ADHD and autism when I was younger, fast forward to me getting my first job I was told horrible shit by my coworkers and the manager spoke to me like you would talk to a child, whe I transferred middle schools in 7th grade and our class teacher told every kid there, who started treating me and talking to me like a child, I was bullied for it too. So I know where the guy was coming from, I try my best to not disclose to ppl that I have it, so they won't treat me differently
