its not THAT long each game (arr, HW, SB, SHB, and Endwalker) are about 60ish hours of story each +20-30 for the post patch stories leading into the next game

if you want to see some with gameplay the asmongold streams are pretty gud (decently edited recaps too) his dark knight quest video is worth watching (lady who wrote those eventually took over lead writing in shadowbringer/endwalker)

To be honest the writing is lost in such synopsis vid. It's worth to skip arr, do whole hw and then skip to shb and do it and ew. One of the bad guys is better than kefka and sephirot but you need to get the finer details about him.

Sine it wasn't covered in detail, I'll delve deeper into the back story of Nael since it's equal parts fascinating and twisted. The Nael we meet isn't the real Nael. It's actually his younger sister, Eula, who was posing as him since before 1.0. They came from Garlean nobility, the Darnus household, and Nael was an up and coming soldier in the Empire. However, he died on a mission order by their father. His lover killed herself in grief by impaling herself with his gunhalberd. This drove Eula insane, and to continue her brother's legacy, she took up his identity and gunhalberd (which she named Bradamante after his now also dead lover), assassinated her father, executed his officers who might figure her out, and went on a ruthless campaign of conquest that made Nael the White Raven and legatus of the VIIth legion.

Not sure why my comment keeps disappearing, but Nael was actually female all along. During 1.0 translation, they messed up the pronouns since Nael used gender-neutral ones and referred to her as "he"... once this mistake came up again in ARR, they tried to fix it with the story you're referring to, but she was really supposed to be a female the whole time. There's a whole reddit thread about this but every time I post the link I think my comment gets auto-deleted, lol.

Thank you for doing this, I really love your videos ! ^^ There is a small mistake tho. Nael wasnt reborn as a woman, she always was. It was never revealed until Alisaie smashed her helmet so it was a surprise for everyone, but she was already a woman in 1.0

In Japanese, Nael is a woman, but in English, it is exactly as was said in this video. Urianger in game was emphasizing that Nael was indeed a Man, plain and simple to get around the error the translation team made. The Lore Book further states this Nael is actually Eula van Darnus who took on his identity. This happened because 1.0 didn't have voice acting for Nael, nor did it state her pronouns, so the dev team went with a male.
