●Ingredients
Rice: 1 cup
Water: 240ml
Imitation Crab Sticks: 10 pieces (approx. 70g)
Cream Cheese: 30g
Shiso Leaves (Perilla): 5 leaves
Soy Sauce: 1 tablespoon
Sesame Oil: 1 teaspoon
White Sesame Seeds: 1 tablespoon
●Instructions
1Wash the rice and cook it in a rice cooker with water.
2Finely chop the imitation crab sticks.
3In a frying pan, add sesame oil and sauté the imitation crab sticks. Once they have a light sear, add soy sauce and turn off the heat.
4Add the sautéed imitation crab sticks to the freshly cooked rice. Also, include chopped shiso leaves, diced cream cheese, and white sesame seeds. Mix well.
5Using an onigiri mold makes it easy; this is a convenient tool found at DAISO that anyone can use to make onigiri easily.
6 Wet the Onigiri mold with water to prevent rice from sticking.
7 Fill the mold with rice, press it firmly to shape the Onigiri.
8 Wrap the onigiri with nori, with the smooth side facing out and the rough side inside. I used 1/3 cut sheets of sushi-Nori.
9 Place the onigiri in the center of the nori.
10 Following the video, fold both sides into a V-shape.
11 Fold the protruding part underneath.
