I legit bought the game 2 times in my xbox and ps4 to support it and convince 4 friends to buy it and get into the saga, glad they loved it. We'll probably won't see an Onimusha reboot anytime soon. Also didn't see many advertising of the hd remasters, learned about it when there was a huge sale.

@@spardasquadspqr3535 That's actually a bit of false tbh. Dark Souls/Sekiro/Nioh/Ghosts of tsushima have elements of Onimusha, and they are selling like cup cakes. There is a market, and if Capcom were to modernise and properly remake those games, they would make a fortune. Sadly they just are out of touch with it or won't give it a proper budget to develop it. Onimusha 5 if developed with modern concepts could be a best selling game. They released warlords which was so obsolete. Had they released 3 or 4, it would have had a better reception considering the popularity of games like this currently. Both 3 and 4 probably underperformed as they were released so close to the next generation which was a shame as it hampered their sales.

So...if there were an Onimusha 5, it be conclude the story of Jubei(grand daughter of Jubey Yagju) from Oninmusha 2. Its been almost 15 years since Oninusha Dawn of Dreams was released. Cant wait for 5th installment. Jubei was my favorite character in this game too.

Best strategy to defeat the final boss is fighting with the gloves that you get it within the game and upgrade it to maximum level, you can finish him in a few minutes when he gets down first time, it was very powerful glove

Hate to say it.. but this is likely the final Onimusha game. Apparently the remaster they did of the first game back in 2018 was a test run gauge intetest and it did HORRIBLE. Such a shame... this series was so epic.

With all those intensive fight, roberto's glassess still remain in tact, and had always been no matter how hard he punches. And appearentlt, there happens to be a white american in the middle of all of these ancient battles, he even has a clock before way before leonardo devincy and eistein was even born lol.

In the manga adaptation and ingame conversation Hideyasu did tell us how he was so bored in the court and castle and it was HIDEYOSHI himself who always find a time to cheer him up play with him and entertain him! That is just show close he was to hideyoshi before genma took control of him and drove his father Mad, he knew must be the one to put end to his father suffering, he did and he joined him in death 😢😢😢😢😢,.

Only ever saw one copy of this game ever, in an HMV and it became mine - 2 discs! The voice acting was terrible yet at the same time did have a real drive to it, least they were trying. The story was solid, the gameplay was great even though difficulty was sometimes horrific (Genma Mansion nightmares!), the soundtrack was unbelievable, and graphically this was impressive for the PS2. Games like this don't exist anymore, and this reminds me of a happier time with Capcom & also Koei.

This is one of the things I never understood about the game: fortinbras. The game says that he was defeated and sealed into the omen star since the beginning of time by the god of darkness. Well if fortinbras was trapped in the omen star all this time, how was samonoske/tenkai able to fight him at the end of onimusha 1?! Was that a "fake" fortinbras or something? And what was the point of that fortinbras fetus/"seed" if he ended up being revived anyway without it???

It’s not unheard of for there to be a “power leaking” situation. On Nioh 2 the main antagonist is actually sealed away but some of his power is leaking out and it takes the form of the villain of the game that you face off against until pretty much the final boss fight. Obviously this isn’t stated to be the case but Fortinbras but it does explain a lot lol

Fortinbras from Onimusha 1 was in his "king" of genma form, a lesser form. His full power was sealed away but he was still able to assume a weaker form, he wasn't completely sealed away, only his god form was. He was revived with the seed, it doesnt clearly show the seed transforming into his serpent form in the cutscene but thats what happened.

Come on, I think you know the real reason: they simply retconned fortinbras' character. And about the fortinbras seed thing, why did it seem to be two different fortinbras'? Notice how after the serpent fortinbras fight the eye patch guy seemed exhausted/injured afterwards, but the human fortinbras came down looking unscathed? I think the serpent fortinbras soki fought was like some sort of an artificial clone that became fused with the eye patch guy. And the real fortinbras was the guy in the white suit. That's the only thing I can think of concerning that confusing situation.

Has been Tenkai the whole time. It’s obvious. ;) honestly using him in a new game to link back the last three games will help us all forget 4 ever happened and if anything remake the happenings of this game through some history things and other scenes that place the onimusha 4 characters into a cameo space to where they can play some importance later somehow. Roberto could someday have the vibe that the Jean Reynolds guy had in 3!! There is a lot to work with even from things that was from the first three games to work with so much and could easily rival all those free roaming games as it’s the perfect time to make a few remakes or something that takes the creativity of all 4 and put them together into some free roaming thing and this can be where they can play around with it and if it includes events or something they could use that to put in temporary places to adventure around without having us be stuck with a game full of things we’re not exactly fond of if you know what I mean. 4 is nice and all but the first three had people fall in love with the series. Think of resident evil village and all that. Onimusha was capcom and was meant to be the ancient Japanese. Version of resident evil. Now. If they could do it it’d be interesting to see them cross over even briefly to see how the viewers take to it. I say it could be worth a shot.

I like Soki but being biological son of Tokugawa and fight for his clan suck! Edo period bias suck. Samurai of that area almost all were evil and asshole. They killed and treating people like trash or toys. That's why Akechi is da best and Onimusha 3 was my favorite.

Well the Akechi clan themselves were a bunch of assholes too , and their leader at the time Mitsuhide Akechi who's portrayed here as Samanoske was a real steaming piece of garbage during the Sengoku era , he killed and raped both women and kids in japan.

Hidemitsu Samanosuke Akechi is not Mitsuhide... 鬼武者3 during the opening Honnouji temple siege Mitsuhide was shown as the uncle (riding a horse) of Hidemitsu Samanosuke... this game adaptation is losely based off to the factual events that occured in the history of feudal Japan... famous figures that took part in reshaping Japan are almost been shown throughout the entire franchise but it does not mean that theyre all accurate thats why its losely based off on the factual events... Yagyu Jubei tbh was Munenori’s son in factual history but here in Onimusha its quite the other way around...so lets not confused the true history with what the game has created... bcoz this game is just like a what if fantasy of all the events that happened before in Japan

...I don't remember Onimusha being this cringe-inducing, obnoxiously melodramatic, campy or narmy... It really hasn't aged well... Not gameplay-wise, either. I mean, looking at this, I suddenly realize that even Kingdom Hearts 1 had better boss fights (and boss banter) than Dawn of Dreams did, and that game came out, like, four years before this one and wasn't a part of a series yet at that point so it was still ironing out its gameplay flaws and shit... meanwhile, this was the 4th game in the Onimusha series and, well...
