It's so cool to be working and doing worship with something we love, I love the tech in my church and whoa I learned so much in editing and using background worship pad, I feel so proud to learn this.😄

Here's what my setup and workflow is: Currently running my Canon 80D w/Canon 24-70mm f2.8 with a Rode NTG Videomic boomed (OnStage Stands, USB-C cable) over our host or pastor/speaker, and using Adobe Audition to get usable audio. We're recording worship with the camera mic for reference footage, and running all sound straight through a Behringer X32, recorded on the console and the master track is mastered in Ableton or Audition (We would like to wire into Ableton to mix each track separately and put into a master at some point). Using these video files and audio files, it's all thrown into Premiere Pro and synced using the sync function (make sure to have reference audio from camera), in the order of Countdown (made from a free downloaded template online), Welcome, Worship, Announcements, Message, Closing, Dead time (with ways to connect/give). Posting to both KZbin and Facebook using the premiere options. We were using "onestream online" to distribute, but cancelled once we figured out the Facebook premiere function, but may go back to it because we will be doing more than one "live" stream every Sunday. Hope this helps anyone trying to up their online church production, we flew by the seat of our pants, but since I have been learning videography and watching Church Front videos, it has been a very smooth process thus far! Thanks Jake!

Love the walk through here. Question, do you know if your church is going to continue pre-recording even if and when your in-person opens back up again? Also, why do you run your service through restream.io instead of just premiering both to KZbin and Facebook? Just curious. Thanks!

I saw where you talked about where you got B-Roll stuff that you guys used during the verses (which turned out awesome, by the way!), but what about where you got music for in the background stuff? Any specific site that you would recommend for royalty-free stuff like that?

Really helpful video! We are currently prerecording everything like you but haven’t compiled it all into one video because we’ve wanted to have the ability to mix the audio more dynamically. How are you guaranteeing volume and balance of all the clips together?

Hey Jake, found your channel by accident the other day and loving binge-watching what I need to learn right now...anyway...quick question regarding what I originally thought was a backdrop, but now see it's your studio walls....are they blue with white lights at the bottom, or black with blue lights? And can you tell me what the lights actually are? I love the simple yet classy/techy effect of the lights at the base. Thanks!

Thank you Jake for your videos! Just a question, you mentioned that Ashton would record your Pastor's part of the video and then send that project to you. What do you all use to share content between each other? Or does he do the throw of the external hard that is sealed in an airtight zip lock bag into your moving car's window while you are driving past his house. :) Thank you again for the all your content!

Jake, about how long does the editing and assembling process take for a finished production? Great video as usual. Due to Covid-19 our church was forced to start online service. In five weeks we went from a simple sermon and closing made on iMovie to me doing a full scale production on Final Cut Pro X. Your videos have been key for me to get up and running so quickly with quality.

It depends, this video took me 8hrs to make. So for this edit I would guess 10-12hrs. It's streamlined, but there is still quite a bit of work still needing to be done.

Thanks for sharing! We're running pre-recorded as well, as live-streaming involves more people having to be in a single location for our tech setup at the moment. I do have a quick question: After everything is shot, what would you say is the average time you need to assemble all this, including editing of the sermon and so on? We're now having to transition to prerecording a week early, as it just takes time to assemble everything (we were recording and editing on a saturday, but that's quite the burden on the post-production people/person). We're averaging at least 5 hours of post-production, as we want to have audiolevels matched between songs, prayers, announcements and sermon, as well as having to cut the multi-cam setup. The 5 hours is without the offloading of files, exporting and uploading of course. I think that's still quite fast considering the amount of work, but would be good to compare to other churches, to see if we're wasting time or are actually on point. I'd say 5 hours is quite reasonable, but how are others doing at the moment?

The master audio output is really low.. If people don't have any way to boost the audio maybe 12-14db's it may be an ''issue''.. Cheers mate ! Keep up the good videos!

To put it into perspective, I spent 8hrs editing this video: making custom lower thirds, making the end card, and just general cutting and editing. So I would say maybe 12-14 hours on something like that. You do have to keep in mind that an edit like that is really pretty streamlined, you're already getting cut and mixed audio and video for your worship and if you pastor is a good speaker you might have to make very few cuts throughout his sermon.

We call it a simulated live stream. Because we still use the live stream apps like Ecamm and KZbin and Facebook live.
