Wow that was great information! I do live in a very rural area, however we are blessed with HIGH SPEED INTERNET! While I served in the military I did council some of my younger troops and had a great experience with it and while at home I was a Boy Scout leader and did some council with parents and scout troops. As I am getting older I didn't realize that I have been doing a lot of counseling and happened to be graced by your video (divine intervention? ). For some reason you look very familiar, I just can't place you. Any way thanks for the information and may your days be full of happiness. ✌🏻

@@soymamaporadopcion Hello! I did Capella MFT graduate program…but unfortunately I didn’t complete it because I was kicked out. I couldn’t find a field site…that is why. For my personal experience…it was a waste of time, money, and energy! I was so disappointed by everything that I worked so hard for. And now I have nothing! Cappella wanted me to start all over again in a different program…but that was going to be more money! My suggestion is to looks for a better online university. My experience has left me very disappointed with the whole situation! I gave 9 years away for nothing! Please do your research…find another school if you can! I hope that helps! Good luck!

Hi Carrie, I am preparing to enter practicum and purchased my CAMFT insurance. My school did online for a year because of COVID-19, but now we're back in class. It would help if you mentioned that the school, specifically in California, is accredited by WASC ( Western Association of Schools and Colleges). Even online colleges should be should be WASC-accredited. I prefer an online course over an in-person environment, but state law requires in-person, with few exceptions. Finally, future students should check with the CA BBS sites to see if they are recognized. One last question: can you explain the difference between an LMFT and an AMFT?

Wonderful video! I attended both in person and online. I received little support in brick and mortar for site placement as well. I think it just depends on connections you have and networking. I think it also depends on the mental health climate and geographical location. My husband just started a program that is brick and mortar but they have 100% online options since COVID. Interestingly they do have a university counseling site in person but online students can do telehealth which is pretty innovative. I think this is a great overview!
