In this video, Professor John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy
demonstrates how to mix and cast concrete for DIY jewelry projects. In a subsequent video, Prof. Ahr will show how to use these techniques in jewelry pieces designed to incorporate cast concrete elements.
In a previous video, Prof. Ahr demonstrated how to use two-part room temperature vulcanizing silicone molding putty to create molds of found objects. The cold molds produced this way are typically used for creating wax models for lost wax casting purposes. But, you can also cast concrete in these same molds to create concrete pieces that can be set into a jewelry item.
