In Uttarakhand, there is the Kumaon Regiment but the Garhwal Rifles. Why do these two neighboring regions have different military formations?

The Garhwal rifles was formed by British govt before they were merged in gorkha rifles for their gardening of Fruits and vegetable plantation during World war the Garhwal regiment was send to War field their they showed their brave courage and strength to Britishers so they took Garh rif as a part of infantry so as long as years passes In take of Garhwal rifle kumaoni s were also entered as a garhwal regiment soldier Britishers notice Kumaouni as brave and intelligent readed mind possisive strength but as they were a part of garh regiment kumaoni s started a movement to establish their own regiment to give kumaoni s a name of Kumaon regiment then they were made as a part of British army now after independence indian govt took these two regiment as a part of infantry 💜 Jay Badri Vishal🔰🤚❤️
