This is a very educative video. Thank you Mike. Can you please give a list of documents to be submitted as "Evidence Submission". I am new to Project Assurance and I have been on your videos for a few weeks, very educative! Also, can you please recommend books and trainings that can ace my skills as Project Assurance.

Thank you. The documents that would get submitted will depend entirely on the project. But, in principle, start with all the project control and governance documents. As for references, while dry reading in parts, I like the APM's Guide to Integrated Assurance - www.apm.org.uk/book-shop/a-guide-to-integrated-assurance/ - and the now out-of-print Guide to Project Auditing.Its replacement apears to be www.apm.org.uk/book-shop/a-guide-to-auditing-programmes-and-projects/

nonsense..... totally off from any reality. Making a stage gate as rigorous as possible does not filter for best ideas but most careful ideas....

Okay, that's your opinion. Stage gates - and governance in general - are about the quality of decision-making and accountability. If you want to prioritize the quality of ideas, you can design your stage gate process to evaluate ideas and test them out before making a selection and authorizing the project to proceed. I will grant you that this is a high-governance process. And therefore, it is most likely to be used where care and caution are important. But I disagree firstly that you cannot optimize the process for selecting the best ideas, and secondly that this is 'nonsense'. That's just a childish thing to say. Stage Gate reviews are very good sense, which is why they are widely used.
