Some markets are luckier than others. In my country, this costs about 500 USD for the Ryzen 3 variant
@selentatsukienjoyer3 күн бұрын
For 7020 series it's the same, R3 7320U=R5 7520U
@Hubwood3 күн бұрын
Yeah the R3 is only slightly slower. Only difference is the core clocks (200/400 MHz less). I'd still recommend the OLED version with the R3 for 500 if it has 16GB.

Mate even I had reviewed this laptop. Quick question - Does your unit have the ability to switch to HDR? In India Asus advertises HDR600 with this laptop - but I don't see any HDR toggle in the display options.
@Hubwood2 күн бұрын
Haha cool :) Neither do I, but it seems to allow HDR for certain fullscreen content according to the windows display settings menu 🤔

Could you review, compare the LENOVO ThinkBook 16/14 with ultra 7 155H and Ryzen« 7 7735HS, both 32GB 1TB to there more expensive versions, like Yoga and co.. I think what you get for the money is quite ok(beside the screen), however the price gap to the next option with the same specs and just a better display for example, does not make any sense.

Thanks for the breakdown! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

I am only seeing an LCD version in the united states. Oh well. looks like a good daily driver if you can find the good screen version.

I was literally about to buy this, but I noticed it's Zen 2. I completely overheard that during the video. The single core performance of this is so far behind even the i3 1215U, it's hard to justify. It even has far less cache. If only they had spent like $20 more on the CPU, this would have been an instant buy from me.
@Hubwood15 сағат бұрын
Depending on what users do with that laptop it's completely irrelevant that it's zen 2. This will be good enough for office work, picture editing, watching movies, listening to music, some light gaming etc. for years to come. Considering the price of 379€ here in Germany I can completely live with recommending that to people that look for a simple Laptop.

For me, I would want to look at the previous generation zenbook at this price point. At 429$ I can get gen 1 core ultra 7 instead with the same screen and zenbook build quality/touchscreen/speakers. Used, I can easily grab the 7840u or any of the Mendocino chips for under 300$ in that same zenbook chassis. America has it Good until tariffs drive prices up
@Hubwood3 күн бұрын
429$ for a Zenbook with OLED and core ultra 7? 😳 In which universes are you living? 😅

If u can get it at that price, asus usually are expensive for no reason

@@jeji5860 I wouldn't know. Last time I bought a computer was a decade ago when I still had money. But obviously the price point matters only if you can get it at that or lower price. I can't say anything about ASUS's laptops as I never owned one by them. Only Compaq, Lenovo, XMG, HP and those not recently as I already mentioned. :(

aha, u dont know how bad and old that 7520 is? and whats wrong with your spec listing? its no OS or with windows for the price u mentioning? at this price point we can easily get laptop with geniune windows and also comes with geniune microsoft office home.
@Hubwood2 күн бұрын
I mentioned the 7520 only beeing a light/simple 4 Core CPU with older Zen 2 Cores :) (Absolutely fine for most people as a daily driver!) Considering the OS: I stated "it has no Operating System / Windows". I was adding the word "Windows" here for people that don't know what I mean with operating system. And yes those people exist. Considering your last sentence: Not over here in europe. Not with an OLED Display. Not with that battery Life. Not with 16GB of Ram.

Man i hate the Ryzen 5 7520u, its such anti-consumerism. Basically a Ryzen 3 5300u with an updated igpu and ddr5 support. Still very nice for the price though I reckon
@Hubwood2 күн бұрын
It's perfectly fine for office stuff, surfing, watching videos and picture editing and light video editing in full hd. 🤷 And even some very light gaming as we saw. Obviously helps keeping the price low.
@HetZieltje2 күн бұрын
@Hubwood yeah i don't hate the chip, I had a 5300u myself and it was fine, though hampered by the soldered 8GB of RAM on my laptop. It's the misleading name, nothing about it is "Ryzen 5". It's an old Ryzen 3 based on a 5+ year old architecture. The average consumer doesn't (and can't be expected imo) to know that however.
