Be honest Dagney, the only reason you came was to hold the baby! I'd do the same. I never got to be a mom but my stepson gave me 2 grand babies to love. They grew up way too fast tho. There is nothing thing like holding those sweet little souls. 🥰 Laurel is such a good baby!

The little wooden monkey is carved from a peach seed. My grandfather made them and I sure wish I still had the one he made for me.

Laurel is a good shopping baby to take with you, she is already familiar with the sounds of GW and other thrift shops, as you carried her to those places for nine months. Dagny comes in handy. She loves the baby, maybe a sitter if needed. I can't get over how much Laurel looks like Andrew when she first wakes up!

I searched when you mentioned the furnaces shutting down, and there is a Washington Post article from January of this year about the furnaces in Murano having to shut down and the cost of starting them up again to get them to the right temperature.

Loved watching you shop with sweet baby Laurel! Dagney had the best job! If you're ever in south central NY, visit the Corning Museum of Glass. Fabulous museum of glass through the ages, right up to contemporary modern pieces. You can also sign up to make your own pumpkin, just like the one you bought. They do those in the fall, and Christmas ornaments in winter.

That head! She reminds me of going to the Christmas Show in Minneapolis, MN at Dayton's department store. The Holiday Show had a different theme every year, such as The Grinch, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, and even Harry Potter. It was staged with all of these character statues in different scenes. As you walked through the scenes, they told the story.

The slag glass lamps are probably Akro Agate and they will have amazing bands of glowing cadmium = looks like lave. Hit them with a black light! A lot of them glow. I have a fantastic lighted cigarette stand that lights up like a volano
