Me and my 8 year old give some mystery bags to the homeless, we love it! We did it a lot around Christmas. One day, we got a mystery bag from a sweet shop, and she ended up giving us £75 worth of American candy and other sweets for £3.50 as it was going to go out of date (was all perfect! Just couldn't sell it). I love the concept of it 😍

What a great idea! I wish we had similar here in Australia....Yes, being tired after only a few hours of shopping is perfectly normal as you get older. When I was in my 20's I could spend a full day shopping/running around/different stores but now, at 62, after 2-ish hours, I am done with it all and done with people/crowds and just want to go home to my sanctuary...

3:46 This is really cool so far. I love the idea. This would be great for, actually now that I think of it, homeless charities collect stuff like this for people with low or no incomes. I absolutely love this idea. Here in Ireland, and I presume in the UK too, and internationally, there are soup kitchens that get donations of food from Tescos for example, of food that hasn't gone out of date, but is close to it. This isn't just for homeless people, but also people on low incomes, struggling to pay the bills. The charities giving them free food from donations or cheaply bought foods like this, can presumably literally save some peoples lives, as its one massive stress off of them. Especially if they have children. Like single parents. Well done for doing this JazzyBum and Nick. You guys are awesome. This could presumably really help some people watching this. I know that homelessness is normally far bigger problem then just a lack of resources, but the lack of resources being a system of a far bigger problem, but as Tescos says: "every little helps". I know though that the best thing to help these people is prayer, but yes, obviously giving them food and stuff too.

Regarding being tired when you are out and about, I don't think it's physical exhaustion as much as mental overload. My brain gets tired trying to process all the things I'm seeing and it makes me just as tired as working out.

We have something similar here for grocery stores. It's an app called Flash Food. It's short date items, remnants of one time buys, occasionally close out items, and $5 banana boxes of fruits or veggies from the produce dept, that are slightly bruised, but still good. It's awesome! I recently got 7 lbs of beef brisket for $4, and some fruit hand pies for 25 cents each. The store I work at got this about 2 months ago, and I've saved so much money on meat market and deli items, I love it. Also, to comment on the fatigue you mentioned. That is a post covid thing. I had covid at the end of June, and an still dealing with fatigue and occasional vertigo

I am an extreme introvert. Just getting coffee and chatting with a friend for half an hour I need to lay down and nap or watch a show to re coup. If I’m out for a whole day I need like 2 days to recover. I’m always so exhausted after a vacation. I do like going out and talking to people… I just have to plan accordingly and not fill my calendar too much. Being mentally exhausted to me is worse than being physically exhausted

I’m going to see if they have this in Canada! I love the idea. What I find very sad is how resturants want to feed the homeless foods that will be wasted, but they can’t-due to insurance reasons. There is a group in my area who goes from resturant to resturant buying food at cost and then delivering it to the homeless. It’s like dumpster divers-legally people can go into dumpsters (unless on private property) and take items destined for garbage-others do this to give clothing to the homeless and homeless shelters and women’s shelters. I love this! Thanks for sharing!

This is reminding me of the film "Black 47". It's a sort of western style manhunt film, but set in Ireland in 1847, during the Great Irish Potato Famine. Its pretty good. It's just getting food on a budget and how this could help a lot of people is probably what's reminding me of the film.

I have had the app for over a year. I used it only once because the good stuff is most of the time almost immediately sold out. Once I managed to get a mystery bag from a bakery. I was really excited because I thought I would get all kinds of amazing pastries and things like that. When I went there they gave me a loaf of bread and then another one and another and kept going until I had about 8 loafs of bread. That was so much bread our freezer was not even big enough to fit all of it so I had to give some away to a neighbor. Since then I am afraid to use it because I think I will get to much again and have to waste food myself
