I didn't "accidentally" as you say, because if you believe Jesus and trust in the Lord then you're not going to hell.

Hear God's Word something I wanna know. Why would I burn in Hell just for not believing in this god thing? Belief isn’t a choice. Especially the parts in the Bible where demons mate with human women and produce Nephilim. There’s no way I’ll ever successfully convince myself to believe that happened.

I'll leave mr c to answer that as they brought up the subject of hell

Hear God's Word come on though. Demons having fun with human women sounds too ludicrous to be real.

Blessed&Bearded Those who feel the need to explain or interpret the Bible one paragraph at a time for 40-50 years are missing the whole point. That’s what the scribes and Pharisees did, and we know what Jesus thought about them. Searching scripture because one feels that hidden in there is the source of eternal life is a fools game. Jesus said so himself.

Is Jon Piper interested in discussing the nature of the relationship between Father and Son? I feel that there are assumptions made from religious tradition that cloud his understanding... iron sharpens iron, right?

Yeah, I'm sure he's reading these comments all day, waiting to have some sort of debate with a total stranger. Thanks for the laugh! Now, anything to say on the content of this video? Which statement did you disagree with, and upon what basis? Give the time stamp.
@BrotherTris5 жыл бұрын
Yesica1993: no debate is necessary. Just a brother to brother discussion. A typical problem with American Christianity are the ‘super pastors’ who are beyond any personal contact. Lord, I pray You’ll please never make me that unapproachable to the general public! I represent the understanding of the church I associate with, Breakthrough Deliverance Sanctuary in Texas (I’m from the UK, though). The head pastor articulates my own understanding very well in regard to this topic, which is much more than be contained in a comment section on KZbin... you can explore the way we see it in the following link, if you’re really interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e52vqWB4oJqnnKM I certainly believe John reads some of the comments, by the way, I don’t think it’s as ludicrous as you make out, but I’m happy that I gave you a laugh, because when it’s genuine it’s surely medicine for the soul! Have a blessed day in the Lord, and peace be with you

Three years ago, and about 3000 hours of NT study later, I reached the same conclusion as Mr. Piper; Only God can reveal God. Prior to this, I had no idea what Calvinism was, and had no exposure to their doctrines. Then, about a year or so ago, I decided to go online and see if anyone else was teaching what God had shown me. It was at this time I came upon folks like Piper, MacArthur, Sproul, etc. I was shocked at what I heard them teach. How on earth can people teach only God can reveal God, AND teach that people suffer torment forever in hell? That made no sense to me. The Holy Spirit revealed otherwise to me. My conclusion was; If only God can reveal God, then no one suffers forever. If only God can give faith, (which I believe to be true) then anyone suffering for not having faith is, BY DEFINITION, unjust. Said another way, if God chooses some by grace, and others suffer for their sins, then God is unjust. Thankfully God is not unjust. Jesus is the Savior of the world. He's not the Savior of the elect only. He's not the Savior of those who "choose to repent, confess, believe, etc. only. FakeYouOut.com Grace, and peace to you in the name of Jesus. :)
@mr.c24855 жыл бұрын
Fake You Out dot com I thought you said that you had reached the same conclusions as piper? I see some contradictions to pipers teachings in what you said. Agreeing that only god can reveal god doesn’t mean that you agree with any of his premises.
@fakeyououtdotcom24095 жыл бұрын
@@mr.c2485 My point was I agreed with the premise of this video: that only God can reveal God. You're right, I don't agree with the rest of his doctrine. The rest of his doctrine is problematic to say the least. If only God can reveal God, then it makes no sense to say those God doesn't reveal Himself to suffer forever for their sins.

Fake You Out dot com Question: Who and how is God revealing himself?
@fakeyououtdotcom24095 жыл бұрын
@@mr.c2485 I'm not sure I understand the question? Here are a couple of thoughts that came to mind. How did God reveal Himself to Paul? Did Paul initiate what happened or did Jesus? There are many Scriptures that speak to how God reveals Himself to us. 1 Corinthians 2 is a good start.

God has Revealed to me the Christian Wolves. They cannot accept the Truth of who they are because of their Pride and Greed. Jesus Reveals to you the Truth!
@mr.c24855 жыл бұрын
kathleen Wharton Hi Kathleen! Check it out....wolves love names and titles. Jesus avoided them...even family titles. Someone who is wise would never refer to themselves as wise and if someone else calls them wise, they reject or at least challenge the term. Names and titles are worthless and a detriment to finding truth. And yes....piper loves names and titles. There are other signs of Christian wolves but that is the most significant one. Blessings!

Mr. C As you know I Love Matthew 5 6 7..and teaching it all the time. But I have found that most Chritians when you quote Jesus Words..I get a negative reaction. This is very hard to understand. I was born into Mormonism and I would go to church faithfully..sit and listen to 3 hours to the "Gospel." but when it was over..I would always ask "But what did Jesus say?". But nobody Cared. They had so many other philosophies going..no one even knew or cared what Jesus Said. I am finding that Here too. People are so resistant to Jesus Words. I have even been told that I was teaching rotten garbage. When I quoted Jesus to my husband..he said I was making it up. Jesus said.."Let no man be called rabbi." Jesus is our Only True Teacher. All of this..people listening to people is Not what Jesus intended. This is where I part ways with Paul..who set up the Church with the titled men and submission to them. I see why this is happening here..but people are ignoring what Jesus Said. Truly I have found..if You believe in what Jesus said..you cannot believe in what men say. They are not the same. I agree with you totally on titles. I have been so abused by men with titles..I cannot begin to tell you. Jesus is the Only One Who can Save you from this and I am so Grateful..but No one cares or even wants to Know what Jesus Said. Most Christians are sheep but following the wrong Master. I guess in order to be a wolf..they would have to know what they are doing. Those who know are the ones who are wolves. I am not sure if Piper is smart enough to figure it out. These people are minions. Having a title is pure Pride..which Jesus said to beware of. "those who exalt themselves..will be abased.". and those who exalt men are worshiping idols. How could it not be more clear?

Yesica1993 Jesus has Given the people Gods Laws and the Pharisees reject them because they have their own program of laws going. Jesus is explaining to the people that if they will follow Him and Obey Gods Laws that He gave them they could rest from their heavy burden (all the laws of the Pharisees) If you read Matthew 5 6 7 where Jesus Gives us Gods Laws.. You will find the correct way to Live that will be Restful..instead of full of a gazillion laws for everything. Jesus tells us how to Live Correctly..a life of rest and peace.

Mr. C I read in another of your comments that the bible was a book of exposure. That one really has me thinking too. It really does seem like there is more in the bible about what Not to Do..than what To Do! I am still pondering this one!
