Karl Rock There is ONE basic astonishing difference found from the study of ALL religions. All Prophets and Gods, other than Sikh Gurus didn’t give any importance to wrote their religious scripture books themselves. Sikh Scripture, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was written and compiled by Sikh Guru's themselves. and its ONLY scripture in the world that was written and compiled and checked by the prophets/Gods themselves. Gurus in fact created a whole NEW LANGUAGE called Gurmukhi and even CREATED ALPHABETS from scratch to put SGGS divine teaching in writing themselves. No other religious Book whether its1. Torah, Jewish religious book was not written by Moses the Jewish prophet.2. Bible, Christian religious book was not written by Jesus the Christian prophet.3. Quran, Muslim religious book was not written by Muhammad the Muslim prophet.4. Geeta, Hindu religious book was not written by Krishna the Hindu God, Ramayana was not written by Rama the Hindu God, Shiv puran and Vishnu puran are not written by Shiva and Vishnu the Hindu Gods.5. Pali and Mahayana Sutras, Buddhist religious books were not written by Gautam Buddha the Buddhist prophet.6. Agamas Sutras, Jainist religious books was not written by Mahavir Jain, the Jainist prophet. These scriptures are claimed to be direct words of god in the all respective religions. Why other God or prophets didn’t wrote themselves? Why didn’t they thought of it’s as a vital process of preserving their own uncorrupted real teachings?

I never heard of the exact 10% of income statement before, where did you get that from? Unfortunately like many other religions, wise and philosophical people like guru Nanak dev ji get turned into god like superhero's who can move rocks and perform miracles. That of course is complete nonsense made up by uneducated people or those who wish to manipulate the masses. We should respect these wise men of historic significance and continually learn as they did and aspire to be as wise as them, not idolise them as gods and pray to them hoping that they will somehow save our soul!

Guru Nanak Dev Ji was a teacher of spirituality. He taught spirituality. And only Saints are designated by the Almighty to teach spirituality. Saints are God's messengers, in all places and in all ages. Certain souls are yearning to return back to the Almighty and Saints come to this world to beckon them to return Home. I read something about the miracles in the comments section. It is true that Saints don't perform miracles but miracles do happen wherever they are. They are not ordinary people. They are God's messengers and come out of God. It can be likened to an ocean and it's waves. The Almighty is an Ocean and Saints are It's Waves. Sikhs wear Turbans, as a symbol of their religion. We can differentiate a Sikh from a crowd this way. It is also to cover their head, a symbol that Sikh is a saint as well as a soldier. In olden times, people used to have long hair, and so they all used turbans to cover their heads, but people don't keep long hair. So, Sikhs keep that tradition alive too. #ProudToBeASikh

Hello Karl Rock, first thanks for making such a wonderful video and being so respectful for the Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Let me clear you all that why we cover our head while entering gurudwara sahib. When we cover our head in front of anybody, it symbolizes that we accept that we are under his command and we do follow him. I accept you as my Master, I wholly surrender myself to you. You must have seen this covering of head in many religions and even in all militaries. When we put on the cap, it has a badge of that military. When we don't cover our head, it means that we are by our own self and we don't need anybody 's guidance. So I hope your doubts must be clear by now. As a matter of fact in India even while bowing to our elders, we cover our heads. It gives a great sense of pride and responsibility to the elders too. Thanks once again, you are a good man.

The simplistic and the easiest reason to cover your head is...its a mark of respect for the almighty. In all Indian traditions you cover your head, take your shoes off ( so as not to physically dirty the holy place) and bow down to accept his/her blessings with the cleanest and purest mind body and soul. You would also have noticed most Indians bow down and touch the feet of their ( direct and indirect) elders for similar reason....blessings and wisdom from the elders...

Keeping the head covered shows modesty, that someone else is more powerful and respectable than us. God being the supreme, our heads need to be covered all the time in order to pay the respect. Thus, the most prominent reason for covering the heads in Gurudwara is respect.

Great video 🙏🏽. Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj is God in human form for Sikhs. Sikhs cover their head because we believe in the Dasam Duar (10th door/ consciousness) which is at the top of our head and opens up when meditating, chanting and connecting to God on a certain frequency. This can open at any time when we connect so we keep it covered. Vaheguru 🙏🏽

Punjabi literature from between 15th to about 18th century refers to land towards the east and south of Punjab as Hind or Hindostan, and towards the west of Punjab as Khorasan. Shah Muhammad (1780-1862), a Punjabi historian writes in his Jangnama: "Jang Hind Punjab da hon lagga, dove patshahi fauja bharia ne" The battle between Hind and Punjab is about to begin, both royal armies are strong.

@@singhsingh4096 chandargupt ruled over present north india. Yes, he didn't rule some parts of south india. You need to read more. Whole asia was known as jumbo dweep once upon a time which was divided into 5-6 parts. BharatVarsh was one of them. It included Afghanistan to indonesia. There are still proof of this in Indonesia and cambodia.

Gurudwara means Gurus' house. Anyone can come to Gurus' door to have food and seek blessings. We cover head as a form of respect to Guru/teacher and the almighty. We wash hand and feet to keep the place clean. Hope this answers any questions you may have.

Guru Nanak did not throw the rock but was thrown by a man-eating giant in anger. The villager had started to come and see Guru Nanak Dev Ji and brought gifts. The villagers then complained about the giant eating people and Guru Nanak said to them that he knows about this giant and has been sent by God to sort him. Guru Nanak told him to behave and respect the villagers. The giant got angry because he wasn't getting attention from people in the village. In a rage, he then threw the rock behind Guru Nanak, which turned into plasticine before touching his back. At that moment Guru Nanak only glanced at him once and the giant fell down from the higher place and died. The villagers, therefore, built a Gurdwara in Guru Nanak Dev Ji's name. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the most powerful spirit on earth.

In the old times the kings used to uncover the heads of those who came to meet them as a sign of disrepect , to show that kings are superior than them. So , naturally when a devotee came to Guru Arjun Dev Ji(5th Guru Nanak) and tried to uncover his head but guruji stopped him because in guru's home everyone is equal, thats why everywhere in their teachings they use the word bhai(brother) to instruct us. And from that day onwards he instructed everyone to cover their heads while visiting gurudwara. In this way Guruji gives respect to anyone visiting .

Another example of why Sikhs cover their head (and I may be wrong but as a Sikh I was told this) is it's the one part of the body where we connect with God whilst we pray, so we cover our head as it symbolises the connection with God. However, some other reasons are; identity, equality and respect.

Sikh Turban means Royalty The symbolisms of wearing a turban are many from it being regarded as a symbol of sovereignty, dedication, self-respect, courage and piety. It is also sign of defiance towards oppression, In India there was a time when only kings, royalty, and those of high stature wore turbans. Even today, comprised the lower castes, mainly composed of peasants, laborers and servants. Many were literally owned by the upper castes and were severely maltreated. The Sikh Gurus (prophets/teachers) sought to uplift the downtrodden and make them the equals of the highest of the high. There have been times in the relatively short history of the Sikh nation that if one wore a turban, it was reason enough for his or head to be cut off by the tyrannical regimes of the time. The collective response of the Sikh Nation was "You may take off my head but not my turban." When many discarded their turbans, those that proudly adorned them in those times, even though it meant certain death,

A Sikh covers his or her head before entering the Gurdwara Sahib out of reverence for our Mighty Guru, Guru Granth Sahib Ji! All prayers are recited with the head covered for the same reason. Langaar is sacred too. We prepare it with reverence. Langaar is prepared & eaten, too, with the head covered - the ultimate respect for our Guru & The Holy Scriptures. Guru Granth Sahib Ji is our Eternal Living Guru. It is not a book of knowledge. When a Sikh is in crisis, he goes before his Guru Granth Sahib, does his supplication to God, then takes a Hukumnama - reading of a passage from the Guru Granth Sahib, in a specified manner, this is his or her answer to his prayers. Bingo! The Guru - He always gives you a direct answer to your question & worry! God speaks to His Sikh through Guru Granth Sahib Ji. So, covering one’s head is the minimal bar of awe & respect for our Mighty Guru.

In older days like some 800-1000 years ago, people used to wear turban as a sign of respect for their elders and teachers. And now coming towards the question, why people require to cover their head while in Gurudwara? It is because the presense of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (the holy scrpiture of sikh religion) in the Gurudwara sahib. because, in sikhism the Granth Sahib ji is not just a holy scripture, we believe in Granth sahib ji as our living guru as the name suggest Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and to show our respect and dignity to our Guru(teacher), we cover our head while in Gurudwara. In Sikhism, we believe that Guru Granth Sahib Ji gives us the right path towards the GOD or we can say that by implementing the teachings of Guru, we can come closer to GOD and get free from the cycle of Life and Death. thus everyone who is entering in Gurudwara should show respect to Guru (teacher) who help us connecting with GOD. hope this will help.
