As a Broncos fan, I want Kev gone but to be fair to him, Walsh and Arey have missed 10ish games this season - any club would struggle with their gun FB and HB gone for that long (imagine manly without dce and turbo; the chooks are being written off with just their hb gone). Throw in Haas, Staggs, cobbo, arthars also missing significant chunks of the season and it’s been pretty much a worst case scenario injury toll this season. That said, the team has looked like it’s been playing with zero attacking structure all year. Our only real plan in attack is to either let Arey figure out something or pass it to Walsh and pray he performs a miracle. Our defence and handling has also been pathetic.

Broncos have such a young squad - 2023 was definitely a bit of razzle dazzle luck. There is no prime to veteran aged players at Brisbane at the moment. Forward pack is being led by children, the backs are all children, the oldest and best player is made of glass. Walsh is fantastically fanatic. There's a rebuild going on at the Broncos and they need to realise that 2023 was luck and at the moment they are definitely a middle order club between 12th and 6th position possibly per season until about 3-5years if they keep the same squad. The problem hit the Broncos with the Dolphins entering. They had some good players and they failed to re-sign them instead offering dumb money to Payne Hass, split his contract in half and maybe keep Herbie and Flegler (although he has his injuries any way). Fractured team due to fractured mentality. "You're only good enough to stay at the Broncos if you're worth 1million/season but we'll pay you 600k a season because you're not actually that good"
@smeeeful4 ай бұрын
2023 wasn’t luck. That’s such a dumb thing to say. The broncs earned making that GF. Unfortunately this years results are what happens when you don’t make defence and hard work your focus. 2023 was built on hard work and the extreme individual talent of the players in the team. 2024 they didn’t put in the hard work, and expected the same results with the talent only.

@@Testertwo1 The daily tele in Sydney reported last year, the panthers have lost 22 players since the 2020 GF. Then there are the players who hadn't debuted, Hopgood, Katoa and so on. Losing players sucks but that is how the salary cap works. If a team isn't losing the players they want to keep then they are using the third party payments to get around the cap, at best. I wont name any teams but I got a fair idea you can work that out for yourself, it is so obvious but the nrl doesn't want to look, bad publicity.
