I think I have listened to this six or seven times since it dropped. I’m really growing fond of how Lauren and Cole mix your vocal styles into this tune. Lauren always keep an edge to her vocals, even when she is singing clean there is this angst and fury on the tone. Cole sings with a more subtle melancholy underpinning his voice, with a more breathy - dare I say - jazzy aspect. Smokey perhaps. The song is about deception, lies and manipulations, and the vocal combination perfectly parallels this aspect. The lyrics are angry and sad. Then there is the orchestral part followed by that searing solo, with Cole savagely tapping that riff. Sad and angry. I’ll always be a Triple Helix die hard and Another Day will always be my favorite Cole song. But this tune is quickly becoming a fave. You two really knocked this one out of the ball park.
