Yes! More of these, please. I think reviewers today grossly overlook the longevity factor when talking about tech. I used a 2012 MacBook Pro in 2019 and I was just blown away at how good it was for its age. Also, I would love if you could cover the Galaxy Z Flip in the same way. It seems like those things break so much, yet no one is talking about it.

I got my Silver/Black XPS 9510, W11Pro, OLED, i9, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, on Feb 23, 2022. I paid $1,764 at the Dell Outlet Store on the Dell website. At the time, the new price for this premium configuration was $3,099. It was a "Like New" refurb that you absolutely cannot tell from brand new. It came with a full new Warranty. I've purchased several computers from the Dell Outlet Store and when they list them as "Like New", that's exactly what you get, you cannot tell them from brand new. You can't go wrong with the Dell Outlet Store as Dell pays the shipping both ways if you don't like it for any reason. I use my XPS 9510 for photography (Lightroom/Photoshop subscription), Stock trading (Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation), and software development (Microsoft Visual Studio). After 7 months' use, this is without a doubt the best computer I've ever owned. I love it! The OLED screen is absolutely stunning! I'd buy it again in a heartbeat, especially at Dell Outlet Store prices.

@@stardewhillbully It's working great! It is super fast and I'm having no issues at all. However, keep in mind I am currently using it only as a workstation, so I have an external 27" HD monitor (1920 x 1080) connected via HDMI, and an external wired keyboard and mouse. In other words, I am not using the touch screen, trackpad, or laptop keyboard, so someone not using any external devices or accessories may have a different experience. But with my setup, I am loving life! I am connecting wirelessly to my network gateway with 100+ Mbps Internet download speeds, so the internal Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 (2x2) card works fine. I am also using a very handy, portable, and reasonably inexpensive (~$99) USB C Hub to provide all of my external connections, an Anker PowerExpand 11-in-1 USB C Hub Adapter, which provides 4K@60Hz HDMI and DP, 100W Power Delivery, USB-C and 3 USB-A Data Ports, 1 Gbps Ethernet, 3.5mm Audio, microSD and SD Card Reader. You missed the fact that we can no longer use the Fn & Left/Right as Home and End. It's a feature that's on just about every other laptop, but for some reason Dell have stopped it. For those of us that edit text a lot (software developers for example) it's crucially important that we have easy access to the Home/End keys, but Dell now puts these on dedicated keys at the top of the keyboard - nowhere near the cursor keys. I have LOVED the XPS line for decades now, but my next laptop is likely to be an Apple instead, because of this one stupid mistake by Dell.
@emissarygw22642 жыл бұрын
Hmm, tbh I never really saw fn-left/right as a feature. When I moved from a laptop with dedicated keys to my 2017 model, it annoyed the hell out of me needing an extra keystroke. I mostly use those keys for like shift-end or shift-home, which looks like it'll be OK, or mass end of line deletions/insertions like up-end-backspace repeatedly, which looks doable and will take one less keystroke.

Yesterday I was just given a 3 year old XPS 15, 9560 with new battery, everything runs great so far I have another 60 days to return my Lenovo 16" i7 Legion 5 to Costco. My main purpose for wanting the laptop is for photo editing at coffee shops one day a week. I'd like to return the Lenovo to Costco ($1099.00) if the free Dell will be just as great (or better?) Careful. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND OF LAPTOP! If your battery breaks down, which will happen sooner or later, you are totally obliged to buy the battery from them at the price they want to sell it to you. And that, assuming they have it. No other battery from any manufacturer will work for you even if the model is correct. The laptop will run on the battery but will not charge it. And the same will happen to you with chargers. If it is not the one they sell you, the laptop will work connected to the current but it will not charge the battery. I have a computer store and I have had to choose not to sell or support any device of that brand.

Your point about the backlight it totally on point. I have the same issue with my older model PXS 13 as well. I wish Dell had made the backlight an arctic blue so there is a slight bit of contrast between the white and the blue that would be just enough to solve the issue. I have owned my older XPS 13 for several years now and am finding the ceramic that they are using on the keyboard deck area is yellowing slightly. This may be palm grease and sweat penetrating into the ceramic surface or just oxidation of the ceramic surface. I have seen other reports by Dave 2D and that corroborates this. The effect is subtle and comes across as a slight patina and isn't distracting in everyday use.

Could you change the Backgroudn Color of the Keyboard via FN + C? Some Dell Official Docs say that should work, but idk if this is related to the XPS A white XPS 15 with red or blue LED, shut up and take my money

Will you review and compare more non-apple laptops please?! Dell vs acer vs hp.....etc. Dell xps vs workstation vs inspiron vs other dell models. Most of your content covers apple, the problem is that I hate apple products and their prices!! Thanks

the black material will be sticky after a few years of light use, which is utterly stupid, I will never buy dell again (the case is broken before the machine broke, wtf)

Dell need to sort out the track pads. Dell need to work with sensel. And the Web cam... sort out the Web cam its trash.

For how I use it, the trackpad it's great. The issue really comes down to whether you want to click the top portion - and I know some people do.

I bought an xps15 in Sept. It keeps crashing and tech support is absolute trash! Don't buy it.

Pity that Dell suffers on Applelitis, a well known dongle disease on his XPS laptops.

the trackpad is awful... random clicks, uneven etc.

Mine is great, I think you can send it back for them to fix as this was only an issue on some machines. 🤔

Have you had a bad experience with dell?
@TheGippy303 жыл бұрын
@@TechGearTalk I thought everybody knew that dell used a combination of new and obsolete parts, when they make new computers, and from some of the tear downs of both desktops and laptops on KZbin things are even worse than I have described

Appreciate you sharing. I’ve had good experiences with the dell laptops I have had so far. I’ll keep an eye out.

Also they’ve destroyed the Alienware brand, with similar issues, but they still charge a small fortune

This PC has way too many problems. Trackpad is a disaster. It seriously overheats, which destroys the battery. For the price, stay away.
