@Tripp14 this what I've noticed when I communicate with some of my customers when working. They see a different color then I do. They say red i see a dark shade of orange lol I know its red but its to light of a red for me to think its actually red it had too much yellow in it. But the colors used here were definitely the colors he said they are from my point of view. So from what I'm aware of is that my color vision is sharper then others as I can see different shades very well. However I have very poor sight in general so I sadly can't enjoy with the colors very much as I can't see details of trees or leaves.

We can see the different in those colours, because the reds and greens used are very different, being highly saturated. However, I cannot see something like red berries in a tree with green leaves. To us, reds and greens (while opposite on the colour spectrum) look very similar. For example, the photos you see here: www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-4160356/This-world-looks-like-colourblind.html, at least for me, all look the exact same, except for tritanopia and full colourblindness, as they are the "blue/yellow" and monochrome forms of colourblindness. Try it for yourself, it is a much more realistic test than this. This video is not legitimate, and is just an attempt to make some money off that ad revenue. (Also I spell "color" as "colour" because I am from Australia, which is part of the logical side of the world, that uses UK English and the metric system) :P

This entire video is bunk. I am colourblind, I am a mild/moderate protan, tested by Enchroma, a better way of finding out and of course doctors, yet I could make out 9/10 words. It shows a very small side of colourblindness, and his usage of words make him sound like all colourblind can't see any colours, which is only one of the 4 cases, which was another mistake; there are 4 types, if you count the complete colourblindness, but normally you speak of 3. Don't use this video as a colourblindness test, it's bullshit

i've got a dual monitor setup where one monitor has better color reproduction than the other. one couldn't really show the difference in the oranges as well as the other. i could tell there was something there but couldn't tell what it was. it was readable on the other monitor. so even if you don't see the orange it may be your monitor not your eyes.

I have a red-green colorblind deficiency and I could read all the words on the pictures. I have failed multiple color blind tests including the tests from eye doctors with the colored circles that have numbers in them and even failed the test for aviation lantern colors. Not sure if this test you have is 100% accurate.

Note that the contrast on your monitor and color calibration affects this test as well. On a somewhat terrible monitor, it is harder to dinstinguish certain colours, while on other monitors (or your phone) it is easier. Contrast is the difference in brightness of colours and most monitors also do not reproduce the colors accurately. They will be shifted, which can affect the test. It's best to take the actual test.

My dad was monochrome visioned. He only saw things in shades of black and white. In fact as a youth he preferred we watch black and white tv's as color was hard for him to see. The way you described how and why colorblindess works was wholly incorrect in every way. My dad was color blind and it has very little if anything to do with the brain, and everything to do with the number of, and sensitivity of the cones and rods that pick up perceived color input in the eyes themselves. I inherited a very very slight color blindness to reds, but my dad only saw in yellows, oranges, and some reds.

yes you are correct. Colour blindness is actually due to the absence of rods and cone cells present in our eyes 8n the region of retina.Perticularly it's the cones which are responsible for detecting colours.

It really does! If you learn the order of the rainbow and see the color wheel properly then you can assure yourself you're not colorblind! The orange one had no different shades. I did see part of the L outlined in grey. Though.

I am a traditional artist but still struggle with certain shades... I don't think that you "grow on it" if I understand you correctly. You either can see colours or you don't, it's mostly genetics and you don't really have any influence on that. And as an artist you just either avoid using the ones you have trouble with, or learn where they do fit based on input from others. At least that's what I do.

I'm an artist and the main problem with this test is the conflagration of color and value contrast. The orange test for example, the word "Love" has no value contrast, and a slight change in color between the word and the background. All other tests used higher value contrast hence they were easier to make out because it's the value difference, not the color that is easier to pick up on. In order for the test to be accurate you have to keep the value contrast variance the same across all colors in the test, so that you are isolating color as the only difference, rather than both value contrast and color, these are 2 variables. This test requires 1 variable, color.

I just thought I should say that this particular test isn’t accurate! This obviously isn’t an optometrist’s office with a controlled and consistent system of measurement, it’s KZbin being watched on a variety of screens. Different devices have different color depths. Actually on many devices with screens, you can go into Settings and actually change the color depth to limit the number of color shades being displayed, so that should shows you that there is nothing consistent about this particular test. Many people who are actually colorblind can still pass this test because some of the words weren’t only slightly different colors than their backgrounds, but they also had subtle differences in lightness and darkness than the background, too. I bet certain people could still have read those words and passed this test even if they watch it with a b&w filter on the video!! And just like we all have different color vision, we all also have varying degrees of ability to distinguish subtle light differences. These changes are factors that are taken into consideration at the eye doctor’s office, like when the patients head is covered with a blanket during a test to keep all outside light from altering test results. That’s why you shouldn’t trust with your results from here... This video was fun though, gotta give it that!

I don’t think this test is that accurate. I’ve been diagnosed as colorblind and on the traditional test with the numbers in the dots I can only pass the sample one. With this test though, I could read every word except the orange one.
