In Uganda, roads are considered “well-made” when they are tarmac roads. Not so, sir! In Uganda, road builders must take account of the fact that not everyone owns a car. Therefore, roads must have pavements for pedestrians’ use, pedestrian crossings at appropriate junctions, good road signage including street lighting and, most importantly, proper side drainage so roads don’t flood during the rainy season. No, the roads are not clean. They are dirty. You drive around during the day. At night, I’m sure you cannot post any videos. Also, what about other infrastructures like nearby convenience stores, good, affordable schools, a functioning hospital, etc.? When compared to good estates in other countries, we still have a long way to go.
