I wish they hired a better translator. I don't believe she was the only option. She ruined the special moments with her broken translations. Also, the siblings could learn some basic Russian language easily. On KZbin or so. So much got lost in translation. I am happy for them to find their families and hopefully they will now really learn the language, as it is possible. There are many Russians living in the USA who would love to give them language lessons too. I learned Russian from a Russian native living in my country in Europe. Which is the best, because a native can teach you so much more. Not only the language, but the culture, traditions, history and so on. Nick and his dad deserve nice chilling moments, with his dad fishing and chit-chatting about life and stuff.

I agree. certain things she said were either incorrectly translated or she didn’t translate the entire thing. maybe if you were casually meeting people this wouldn’t matter but we’re talking about families reuniting after so many years. i would want to hang on to every single word my family members said.

My case is sorta like this except in the US, my dad had 2 kids before he had me, I dont know anything about them, my dad has no idea its been 30 years since hes seen them and I have for the last 9 years since I found out wanted to meet them really badly because I only have 1 half sister in my life, moms side. And I have wanted a brother and have a half brother and half sister and it bothers me so much that I may not get to have them in my life. I want my siblings.

@Erin4969420 күн бұрын
as someone with a lot of russian family, i can say that many russians don’t agree with putin’s actions but they are unable to speak up or protest the way we do because they would end up “mysteriously” vanishing. even in a post soviet union country, russians are highly surveilled. access to news and media is highly restricted. the citizens aren’t the issue. the issue is the government that puts on a facade of democracy when in reality it’s ruled by an unhinged autocrat.
