I'm so happy that this show doesn't put the hoarders on display like other shows I've seen. When I watch other shows, it feels like they're really just there to shame the people and then clean their stuff without actually helping them. But I think it's great that this show promotes compassion and teaches people that there are proper ways to help people who become hoarders. If I were a hoarder and I watched this, I think I might be encouraged to reach out to someone for professional help.

If you'll notice, the US versions have homeowners in a crisis situation. They're usually about to lose their homes. So, they have to clear the homes first and offer them aftercare funds to continue therapy and organization learning.

There are a few differences with the UK version of Hoarders (when compared to the US version). The UK version really focuses on therapy and helping the individual. The US version only devotes the very beginning (and end) to therapy with giant dumpsters and moving vans and "junk trucks" taking over the Hoarder's home. It's just very interesting to compare and contrast the two versions. The UK version also focuses more on relationships and people as well (and not on the mess, if that makes sense). I enjoy both shows, but I find myself feeling more uplifted after watching the UK version! :)

With every episode I watch I get rid of a few items in my house. I am afraid there might not be enough episodes to get my house decluttered though. . . 😊

I want a friend like Julie too! And I love the compassionate alternative doctor. Ive realized I am a borderline hoarder,no tats yet...almost. I own a 53 ft moving van full of clothes art antiques and so much torn and disturbed from a life of turmoil. Rejection and abandonment. I am also a compulsive over eAter and overspender, bulemic, it all runs together.

I’ve watched hoarding shows over and over in the past four months as I clean and declutter. It has helped me throw away BOXES and BOXES of stuff I had in the closet in my classroom! I’ve prayed and actually closed my eyes to chuck away books and papers without going through the junk!! I am committed to keeping my bedroom clean -no clothing or books on the floor or dresser. I have three family members who hoard-iI’m the only one who is confronting it. I’ve spent too much money, and over-eaten. Hun, prayer works! I’m praying for both of us to be healed within ourselves-from the inside out. As we begin to just love ourselves by faith, we can free ourselves more and more of the burdens we have carried within ourselves and in doing so, we can rid ourselves of the outside junk. Be compassionate and caring and loving towards our own selves!!!

Is this really your real name, or are you my gf Julia who lives in a 44 foot viscount caravan... 1978 model? Shes got a great long trailer full of stuff from her mother's property and you cant see her plant pots.. very overgrown or other things like pressed metal patio sets or birdcages full of grass and I tried to open a window the other day cos she left the heater on and she was not right and I moved the lace curtains and they shredded and tore .. I was gentle and just wanted to let fresh air in. Shes got home help once a week in to reduce the 'stuff'. Mostly clothes, shoes, bags, rando bits of paper.

He,s either Greek or Cypriot... it,s a common practise in older men. He may go back home occasionally to top up his tan but that also looks a bit fake.....

This was one of the best episodes I've seen!!! I wish we had a Dr. STELIOS here in USA!! THE other episode was the guy that channeled a female personsonia. THis was one of the greatest transformations of his home!! ♥️♥️♥️ Just beautiful.

To be fair, I feel badly for the lady. I am dealing with a hoarder , myself. It is very difficult to co exist with constant mess.

My ex was one and I deal with depression. Luckily I was only with him for 3 years. A lot of damage was done in that time and I didn't have the energy to battle him.

@@1985bjaycat I totally get it. The only way not to let it get me is to keep busy and be gone a lot. I joke I am going to fix up the shed and gazebo and move in. 20 years for me.

But why argue over it? He didn't know it was part of her therapy, and also could she not have just said, do we need this dog treat jar or do we have one already? People argue about the most ridiculous petty things that don't really matter, if these times haven't made people see that then there is no hope for us all.

Right? And she was totally irrational and unreasonable about it when he retrieved the jar. "Why won't you let me get on with my journey?" Well, if he'd known about it, I'm sure he would have...
@tamarasantana72903 жыл бұрын
I am sure she told him, but he choses not to help her. My ex was the same, off his house I am much better. In some cases I think it’s because of the person itself, but in this ocassion I think the husband has a biiiiiig part on it.
