This reminds me of my husband! Dated ALL through college … we were that HBCU couple on our campus. Everyone was rooting for us… but we were known as us as a couple; not us as individuals. We were very codependent and it was unhealthy in some ways. We LOVED each other , but needed to grow separately… Broke up 3 days after graduation…. went our own ways for about 6 months Now we are married… We really needed that time apart to discover who we were because we were so ENGULFED in each-other. Also spending time with other people for less than 7 months showed us we didn’t want anyone but each other. It took time. We hurt each other in the process. Therapy, prayer and FORGIVENESS played a major part. But now, we are better than ever. God is amazing. What He brings together, no man can tear apart. If it’s God ordained, it’ll happen. Y’all really encouraged me. I broke up with my gf a few months back because I wasn’t in a healthy place where I could give her the best version of me anymore. The thing is God showed me that she was my wife before we even met (crazy right?) and I don’t see a future for myself with anyone but her. We went through ups, downs, had some issues (some similar to your situation and a few different) but I still believe we’re God ordained. There’s days I wonder if I am wrong about it but this was confirmation to just keep trusting God and let things continue to play out. Thanks for this video. God bless.

Please let the teens at least be 18 years old before you begin any type of friendship. As a teenager, they can easily have a crush and go through unnecessary emotional pain so young, among other developmental issues. Let them at least get to 18 before they have access to calling and speaking with you IF you are a grown adult. I had to say this...I understand that there was nothing physical but this isn't healthy in my professional opinion to befriend a teenager, especially one that has a crush on you.

@@kimberlymawi we got back together about a month ago and everything was going great but I don’t think it’s gonna workout honestly. We had a fight on Tuesday and it escalated Into a breakup. In order to make things work you have to actually try and I just wasn’t really seeing him put in the work for the relationship. He says he was and maybe he was giving it his all but it still wasn’t enough I guess. I think he just has things he needs to deal with before being in a relationship. Some healing. He’s not really able to give me love right now because he needs to give that to himself first. Fill up his cup before anything else and that type of thing. I love him with my whole heart and I hope we can work it out.

Jonathan looks so much like my nephew Stephan I'm amazed. My take away from this video is the importance of honest, open communication in a relationship. He didn't just tell you what you wanted to hear Jess. In return you didn't just sit silently hoping for the best. You let him know how you felt and you acted accordingly. Taking the time for him to sort out what he wanted and how he felt about you was key. By not acting ugly out of anger, Jess you left the door open for him to come back to you with a certainty that wasn't there before. The lesson: be friends first. Date to get to know the person. Hey Jess, I know it's been a year since you posted this, but I just wanted to say that your testimony, along with other similar marriage testimonies, have been used by God to help me gain closure over a relationship that didn't work out. There were quite a few similarities between your story, the other testimonies, and mine, and I resonated with many points you made. Though I'm not taking this all as a sign that it'll work out the same with this person and I (that feels impossible), I do feel like God used these stories to tell me, "Yes, I CAN do the impossible. But when I choose not to, it is for a good reason that you cannot see right now." So many doubts about whether God could or would even want do in my life had been cleared up with a "yes, He could" with your story, along with the others. I have faith now, that if God really wanted to, He could bring me and that person back together. But I also rejoice knowing that His plans are good, whether that happens or not. I know for myself if I start kissing a guy I will instantly feel emotionally attached to him. For example, dating these days is complicated and I know I'm not the only woman a guy is contacting. The man and the woman shouldn't put all their eggs in one basket. When there is a mutual agreement between the two to be in a committed relationship then their guards can slowly drop. The moment a guy is consistent throughout the dating period and he asks the woman to be his girlfriend, there's an understanding that he's serious about her. Make him work. Dating is all about collecting data and deciding if the guy is worth your time. The affection will come slowly but surely. No rush.

Wow I just love your love and testimony. I’m 5 years older than my husband. I was engaged to another guy (a Pastor son) I had a dream 6 month before my wedding that I married another guy. I was like I’m marrying the wrong guy!!! Everyone thought I was crazy but I gave back to ring and called off the wedding. I was 25. A year and a half later I met my husband!!! I was so in shock this guy in my dream was 5 years younger than me. Well 30 years later and 3 adult children now I am so very thankful to Adonai for showing me His Divine Will for my life. May God Bless you guys always and you are such a beautiful couple! Therapy is good I got it to forgive myself for hurting that guy but he is happy now and life is soooo good🙌🏼

Jess! When i tell you i have been avoiding this video from the day you uploaded it (i was afraid of this happening to me). And then last night my boyfriend of 2 years and 7 months. And it the reasons for our break up is almost identical to yours. And he said the exact same thing that Jonathan said to you about not being sure about marrying you! Right down to me also asking him if he can see himself marrying me and he said he did not know and us both breaking down. I have been a sobbing mess since. And i kept getting the strong feeling to watch this video, again i was dodging the feeling like neo is the shooting scene of the metrics lol.
