So I have a weird opinion on this one. OOTP is my least favorite of the books, but is my favorite of the films. I found this to be the most filler-ific of the books, but the film had a great momentum to it. Unfortunately, a lot of what was cut from OOTP really crippled Half Blood Prince. In fact I can sum up that film in its entirety by saying all the cuts to the first 5 ones, which can be justified in the context of those stories in isolation, collapsed in on that one. Which just ultimately shows the fundamental trappings of adapting such a big franchise where small subplots in earlier stories can become extremely relevant later on. Imagine if LOTR went on for 7 novels. There's a chance Tom Bombadill could've ended up being really important later on, making Fellowship's cutting of that subplot completely wreck the series in retrospect. Likewise, Ginny Weasley's character may not have been super important to Goblet or Order so her being so reduced would make sense in isolation to save runtime for the core story, but come HBP and suddenly that causes an out-of-left-field romance. So in a way, I can say OOTP is to blame for many bad elements of the (IMO) worst film in the series HBP. That said, it at least didn't drone on for friggin' ever like I felt the book did. I swear The Silmarillion was more concise and easy to keep engaged in than OOTP. For being more enjoyable than the book its based on, I give it some extra points. Azkaban is as good as the book, no better and no worse. OOTP, by being more enjoyable to me, is better. Even if Azkaban is a better adaptation, and in many respects also better directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Easily the best director to ever grace the franchise). Also, welcome to Hell. And by Hell I mean Tampa in Summer.

The part about grabbing the prophecy isn't really a plot hole, though; Voldemort knew it was about himself, so he wouldn't gain anything from that, the point was figuring out whether it was about Herry or Neville. Should've been pretty obvious that it was about Harry given how events had transpired, heh.

Bellatrix Lestrange didn't kill Neville's parents. She tortured them until they suffered permanent brain damage. "Yes, they were talking about Neville's parents," said Dumbledore. "His father, Frank, was an Auror just like Professor Moody. He and his wife were tortured for information about Voldemort's whereabouts after he lost his powers, as you heard." "So they're dead?" said Harry quietly. "No," said Dumbledore, his voice full of a bitterness Harry had never heard there before, "they are insane. They are both in St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. I believe Neville visits them, with his grandmother, during the holidays. They do not recognise him." @@sloth8534 this is the prophecy Trelawney's first known prophecy was witnessed by Albus Dumbledore in 1980, foretelling the birth of a boy who would be capable - though not assured - of defeating Lord Voldemort, that Voldemort would "mark him as his equal", and that either the boy or Voldemort would ultimately kill the other As i said. People hate Umbridge more than Voldemort cuz shes actually more evil than Voldemort. Voldemort is a lunatic outlaw murdering and killing anyone in his way. Umbridge essentially does the same thing only shes abusing state power and has a monopoly on violence. Who is more evil, a random guy who kills someone or a cop who handcuffs an innocent and then kick them to death while they cant defend themselves and even if they COULD the werent allowed to or they would be considered criminals. Voldemort is the violent outlaw. Umbridge is a power abusing, sadistict, croooked cop
