Thank that truck driver for being a Good Samaritan and saving the driver, and passenger before the fire. I'm very familiar with that part of the 91 Freeway and Interstate 5 in Orange County, and I've never been comfortable driving along that stretch because of those cement walls which sometimes can make you feel a bit claustrophobic thus you can misjudge your vehicle's position within the right-hand lane. Happy to know that she wasn't seriously hurt.

Trailer sway usually happens because of too much weight behind the trailer axle. Minimum 10% of trailer weight must be on the tongue. If you're towing and the trailer tends to sway, slow down till you can pull over safely and redistribute load forward in the trailer. Applying trailer brakes only can help stop a sway event. I had a 32 foot Streamline I just bought on Ebay start swaying after someone cut in front of me and braked, it whipped 90 degrees left and right like an angry alligator tail. Managed to get stopped without jackknifing or hitting anyone. That week bought a big Suburban to tow with.

I'm wondering if maybe it was a wheel bearing, they can catch on fire if you continue to drive due to lack of grease, whether it was due to driving through flood water or just deep puddles on the road over and over, even dirt.. It happened to me,but luckily someone driving next to me seen my wheel red hot and smoking, and because I was in New Orleans driving through flood water over and over because it would flood very rapidly after a few days of heavy rain, and it was a 64 chevelle,so it needed new bearings bad.. That was in 81.
