INCIDENT DETAILS:
HFD responded to a house fire with a reported person trapped
Upon arrival, they had heavy fire showing from the rear of the residence with heavy smoke pouring out
ACCORDING TO THE HOMEOWNER(off-camera), he was at home with a new guy he has been seeing
A guy he dated in the past called, asking if he could come over because he was having a mental breakdown (said the guy has mental issues)
He said yes and the ex-lover came over. He apparently caused drama while at the house and at one point got a gas can
He poured out the gas in the bathroom and lit it on fire. The house quickly caught fire
Both the ex-lover and the homeowner were able to get out of the house
The homeowner was also able to rescue two dogs out of the house (one adult dog, one puppy)
Firefighters made quick entry and rescued the new lover. He was not breathing when they pulled him out
Firefighters were able to restart his breathing by providing rescue air and he was transported by paramedics to Memorial Hermann
The ex-lover was also transported to Memorial Hermann. Both the two transports are in stable condition
The homeowner was not injured and remains at scene
VICTIM INFORMATION: Two males. Both stable with smoke inhalation
