Very helpful for a complete beginner like me. Learned a lot from this video. It's hard for me to think about laying it out like you did coming from tinker cad but now I know a new way to design something like this.

Thanks, I watched your plan and then I tried it myself and I managed in around 15 or 20 minutes. I will watch later how you did it cause I already saw there are minor differences. I really like those challenges gaining experience is worth so much more then just following tutorials step by step.

Very helpful. I still struggling with my designs in Onshape but mostly because I get confused by my own mishaps 😆...but getting there.

Thanks for these videos. I’m a solidworks user now for about 16 years and Pro/E for a few years before that. I’m excited by all the possibilities with Onshape. Watching your videos and some others from Airwick and Ovyl have been fun. I’m curious to know what your strategy is for naming features - what you capitalize and hyphenate and lower case. Certainly more entertaining than boring part numbers. I’m always looking forward to the next video

Another great video. Thanks! Can someone answer a super basic question I have: how do you get the the little pup-up window next to the pointer such as at @8:12 which gives you a shortcut to Line, New Sheet, Revolve, etc? I've learned all sorts of complex tasks in my short time with Onshape, but somehow I've missed that basic functionality. It doesn't seem to be a right click but maybe some variation of that?

Got it: s key shortcut! Figured it out by watching your very first Onshape video. :-)

Before watching, I did this myself. I'm a newbie so it literaly took me hours, but I got it done. Most of the time was spent researching how the features work. I started by making the flat face, then added the dome. Then I made the bolt holes, followed by the clearances. Finally I cut the dome to make the handle. For both the clearances and the handle I used the subtract feature. After watching this demo, I see how much simpler the whole process can be. I also appreciate all the hints and suggestions (like naming the features) Thanks a million. I know I'll be following your tutorials as I continue to learn. One question. Reading the drawings is pretty clear to me for the most part, but I don't understand everything. Is there a reference I can use that explains all the symbols and annotations? Liked and subscribed.

I would use 2 objects, the disc seperate from the dome and join them in the end. Like the drawing.

Hi Toby great tutorial and I don't know if you read comments but I'm confused by the cut extrude "through all" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/faeQkKhmpql3npI and was wondering why the through all command seemed stop at the face instead of going all the way through "all" of the part? Thank you.
