It's really affordable to get into... a single starter box + a 2nd commander can give you 13 models each to use.. 3 units of 4 and a commander each is great for small demos...

Indians are more interesting than what I gave them credit for when I purchased the book thru Kickstarter. I may likely look into some of these guys? I agree so boat to boat combat is in order. I would love to see the plunder scenario played out as well especially with 3 boats

The thing I love about this game is how much it has taken me out of my comfort zone. Between Warhammer fantasy when I was younger and Flames of War and ACW games now, all I've painted are white men. This game has had me experimenting with Native and African skin tones which I've loved!

I'm really enjoying my Brethren of the Coast even if I'm having a super tough time beating my friend's French Militia.. we got another buddy gearing up for English and another dabbling in Spanish, so we are now just looking for some Dutch and some Natives to round out the factions!

The history of the natives raiding english outposts could make for some really interesting ambushing scenarios where they need to get in and get out past patrols.

There is a dawn raid scenario in the rulebook - perfect for this kind of thing. The rules are simple, but the eye to history is excellent; units with matchlock muskets are easier to shoot in the dark, because of the glowing matchcord on their guns!
