I love Algonquin but never camped at Pog

We’ve really wanted to camp at Algonquin but there’s so few campgrounds that have power (as we’ve been told) and it is super popular. Assuming this campground (Pog Lake) has hydro. I see it was Radio Free? Have heard Mew Lake is THE campground to stay at if you can get a spot. Any thoughts on that? P.S. it looked beautiful there!

It is super popular, and for good reason. I have camped at both Mew and Pog, and Lake of Two Rivers. My personal preference would be Pog. I like the beach area and the small lake is great for kayak/canoe with kids. It's were my son first kayaked on his own (8). The river only touches the side of the lake, so there is no current in the lake, but you can go farther either way down the river if you like. When we were there, a large beaver was swimming around Pog, nibbling on water plants.

Going to pog lake this summer with a trailer, were do you get fresh water for your tank? Dump station?
@RubberMeetsTheRoad3 жыл бұрын
Ok so good question, there is only one water fill and dump station for Pog lake, Lake of Two Rivers and Mew lake. It is located on HWY 60 just east of Lake of Two Rivers on the North side of the road..Be sure to fill up BEFORE you get to Pog lake..I hope this helps!

@@RubberMeetsTheRoad thank you for the reply...is it well marked and obvious on Hwy 60?
@RubberMeetsTheRoad3 жыл бұрын
Yes it is but once you pass by Lake of two Rivers its a few kms past that. I would have a keen eye for it because it will be marked and then you will make a turn into it. One other thing is when you leave Pog Lake and travel west the same water/dump will be on your right. You will;l have no problem seeing the sign. FYI the water fill is sooooo slow lol.

@@RubberMeetsTheRoad fantastic, no one, including the park side lists it on a map or gives directions 🙄 I’m a newbie travel trailer guy so I have a lot to learn this summer.... thanks for your guidance Maybe showing the start to finish experience including water and dump stations would be a first on KZbin videos, and extremely handy for newbies

Hey Lee I will do a video this summer on that! If you have any more questions hit us up on our Instagram @RVAdventureOntario and I will help you out. Just PM me there.
