Just picked one up on secondary market. Ergos are great. That is the only plus. Very very very tail heavy. No milling for weight relief. It's heavier than it looks for no reason. Blade won't center. Nylon washers for the pivot. No over travel stop for the lock bar. Stiff action and even stiffer lockbar. The pocket clip is reversible but the threads were not cut properly for the left carry. I'd pass on this one guys. I also picked up the utilitac and it's fantastic.

I wasn't expecting much( But grabbed it at 59 bucks, actually even less with a 5% coupon and free shipping and no tax ) , but in hand ...everything about this knife is very nice. Lockup is great, slight lockstick went away with 50 or so deployments...nice. Love the handle, not slippery at all for me, blade came razor sharp....feels great in hand.

Hey ltk the overtravel stop is achieved by beveling the lock bar cut its kind of brilliant

Something I have only seen in one knife I've ever owned, a Mick Strider Custom SJ75. A $2000 custom, yet Taiwan did it for $70.

I want to start off saying LTK is the most prolific knife reviewer I've found. I think he wins the belt. His archive reads like an encyclopedia (yeah, that was a BOOK before there was wikipedia) of knife models. I'm not sure its true but I was just reading a book that said Cerberus translates as "spotted one". So in essence, Hades named his dog Spot. Who knew.

I wonder if it is a Bill Harsey design. It reminds me of the sadly discontinued Lone Wolf T2, the version with a full flat grind.

After thinking further about this knife, the blade/handle ratio is way off. I love the handle design, but it begs for more of a "macho" blade size/shape. Not trying to be overly critical, but picture a ZT handle with a SAK blade... this is kinda like that.

No, I think you're right on the nose about this.
@rickkerans84856 жыл бұрын
I would like it a lot more with a better blade to handle ratio, bronze washers or preferably bearings. I have no issue with size and weight. I do think it is overpriced even with ltk discount. Between 50 and 75 would be more appropriate compared to what is out there. I do like the look except for the maybe lanyard hoop.

It has a D shaped pivot and hole in the lockside

Why no captured bearings? I have a sub$40 knife with actual bearings, not bushings and the knife flies open with a solid thwuk. I believe its called a scimitar.

Still REALLY diggin' my OKC Carter Prime. I went totally insane and had mine weight-relieved by having the scales milled out and stonewashed by The Razors Edge. Yes...it cost more than the knife! LOL! (Josh did a killer job!). It took 3/4 oz. off the knife. Made it balance and also made it a keeper man tool, Flanagan!!! The Cerberus is not for this guy. OKC has issues with the design and manufacturing...kinda Iike me. 😜

I like the looks, but its pretty damn heavy, which is kinda the deal breaker for me. It just doesn't need to be that heavy. They could have done some weight relief under the hood, but as it is, it almost defeats the purpose of a titanium construction. If it was stainless, it might weight 8.5 oz, but it would also cost half the price or less. Cool knife, but I'm not surprised that it hasn't sold well. We know OKC can make a legendary knife, I'm still waiting for the next un'

love this knife. considering hinderers use teflon, not a deal breaker. i don't care about "blade to handle ratios". i have faith that the blade is real, heat treated d2 and feel from experience that i have some d2 that is too soft to be d2 treated correctly...

I like when knives start with a touch of stick. Let’s me know the lock is right. Secure

LTK- I live near Lake Ontario and can assure you Taiwan is no where near me. I'm not seeing this as a competitive knife. Blade to handle ratio is off, price seems a bit high, teflon washers and lock stick add up to an "I'll pass" for me. OKC needs to find a better OEM or how about building the knives themselves.
@BazonBlades6 жыл бұрын
Have to say, I have zero interest in anything OKC makes. Their Ti folders make me think they either have no idea what the modern knife enthusiast wants/expects or they just don't care.

Anyknife that has titanium as the surface that contacts and presses against the locking surface of the blade WILL FAIL in a fairly short time. Both titanium and aluminum are unsuitable for knife locks, period, no ifs ands or buts about it. Titanium in the lock wears within a year of heavy flipping, knives like this need a steel lock bar or a replaceable steel tip on the tip of the lock bar. But feel free to disregard my warning. Lionsteel seems to know all about this and builds knives to last. Do you wonder why the lock stickiness he sees in the beginning goes away? Because the soft titanium is already wearing away...eventually the lock wont lock. I even did my one and only video on how the titanium lock failed on my boker plus from wear
