OTF, thanks for being football therapist. If Texas is to get better, the program needs to look in the mirror first. And, understand that they’re not at the mountain top. I believe our main issue is mental. We lie to ourselves about how great we are, how good we play, and how bad the competition is. Georgia created some real doubt. That doubt is exactly what the team needs to focus on. Doubt can be transformed into confidence. It’s not that we lost the game, it’s the way it was lost that was jarring.

It’s hard to beat someone when you don’t match their intensity… not to mention they blitzed way more than they normally do and hadn’t showed that on film and Quinn played like trash.. Georgia was spotted 23 points cause of Quinn.. they had short fields all the first half. 23 of their 30 points were like 30 yard drives or less and most were way shorter than 30 yard fields.. Georgia only was able to drive the field for a score once and even that was kinda flukey cause on 3rd and 10 on their own 11 they had to run a trick play double reverse flee flicker to get a dude wide open… we can play better and match their intensity we can definitely beat them..

Herbstreit claimed during the game that the fans doing that bought time for the 6 refs to do something they almost never do which is review and reverse a non-reversible call on the field. Go watch it again and note what he said. The reversal of a penalty call after they’ve enforced the penalty, placed the ball and marked it ready for play and there was no on-field formal review, Bobby said he has never seen that happen in 40 years. It took a little time, time that wouldn’t have been there if the game had gone on and not been delayed by the 100+ bottles. Not arguing for that kind of precedent! I would say Ewers doesn’t have the whole play book. We CANNOT throw deep outside with Quinn. Arch hits them consistently. Quinn isn’t a play maker and if he doesn’t have a perfect pocket he folds. We’ve seen bad happy feet Quinn more than we’ve seen step up and deliver Quinn. He is what he puts on tape.

Right or wrong call, it shouldn't have been changed without a formal review which doesn't happen on PI. Officials were afraid of the crowd, low class and should have been penalized for their actions.

The coaches gotta come up with some plays to compensate for pressure like that. I'm no expert but I just don't think they have faced anything like that. Now that they have coaches need to figure it out. They might have to play Georgia again this year
@mitchellatkins7126Сағат бұрын
Drops?? They had like 2 or 3 drops and SO DID WE?? Our drops were more detrimental than Georgia’s? If wisner doesn’t drop his pass, there is nothing but green grass in front of him and it’s possibly a TD… if Quinn throws the ball in front of wingo it’s a TD cause he had his man beat and it was just a PI.. and it wasn’t a drop but if wingo just doesn’t fall down after making that catch no telling if that turns into a TD.. it was at the very least a first down if he stays on his feet..

I had us 10-2 at the beginning of the season, so this loss was not a huge deal for me. However, the way we lost because of our very poor OL and QB play was very concerning. I don’t think QE has it in him. The rest of the regular season shouldn’t be a problem because we won’t see another team like Georgia. But the playoffs is going to be another animal.

Wait and see how Quinn deals with Vanderbilt? Georgia should be the standard, and he clearly came up short. Quinn can still work his way back in, but Arch has earned the start.
@JoeyAustin-ul1qbСағат бұрын
Do you really want to sacrifice Arch with this OL? OL should improve next season even if they have to build from the transfer portal. Sark needs to learn how to game plan with the team he has now instead of the team he had when he was OC in Alabama. Or just hire a good OC or assistant.

Great show guys. Tons of great points made. Georgia exposed a lot of issues that other teams have not been able to. Good for us that this game was in the middle of the season. This game tells me that the team needs to strive to get better each week because we are likely to play Georgia again. Also, Sark must recruit at even a higher level to beat Georgia. It was concerning how GA beat us, at what was considered our strength, OL and QB.

He will probably still get drafted as a backup QB that will have time to develop in the NFL. Staying for another year in college may expose his weaknesses more, so smart move would be to declare for the draft with a winning season and hope they can develop him better in the NFL than the QB coaches at Texas.

I'm highly disappointed in Texas' offense; it's not that we're an offense that can't execute-that's not in Texas' DNA, last season or this season. We all know Texas has wide receivers that can make plays, tight ends that can make plays, and a quarterback that should make plays. So what the heck happened last night? I don't understand. Was it Sark's fault for not changing and adjusting his game plans? Sark really dropped the ball. We know Sark to overthink it, just like in the OU game we lost last season. I can't understand what happened, honestly.

As a Georgia fan the sad thing for me is that NEITHER team looked like a National Championship contender esp. at QB. Each team also has to make just a few more plays. You can't have 3-5 (?) balls hit the defender in the hands and not come away with a pick.

We’ll be fine against the lesser talented teams with Quinn but we’re not winning championships if Quinn is scared to be touched. The questioning is can Quinn get over this fear of injury. The OL gave him no chance so he’s getting everything compunded on him. Arch needs more starts to get to the higher ceiling.

@JoeyAustin-ul1qbСағат бұрын
It wasn't fine, or they wouldn't have been down 23-0 at the half. Where were the in motion plays? The end arounds? Sark needed to be more creative against Georgia and use Texas speed more. Wasn't going to outmatch Georgia physically. Wisner's drop was a momentum changer but no real adjustments by Sark to shift the momentum back to Texas. Sark needs to establish a run game to be successful in the passing game. Sark doesn't know how to establish a passing game to open up the run game. Just looks like Sark is trying to do too much on his own. Hire an OC.

I agree with C.J. The only good thing that came out of that game was the defense in my opinion. Despite having to defend short fields for most of the game, they played pretty well.
