Arai Defiant Review - ''The Helmet for Naked Bikes?''

Well my wife gets some brownie points, she got me a new helmet! Here is my initial review of the helmet.

It is good, I'll try upload some more footage soon :-). Unfortunately the bike is out of commission ATM while I wait for a new stator to arrive, but when that's installed I'll get some more content up. The back of Glorious is my favourite, there are some great sections there

Its hard to beat the sound of a V4! There are some awesome spots around here to ride and explore.

I also have the Defiant/Rebel. What I noticed is that the American version has the emergency cheekpads.

ahhhhh. I was wondering why mine did not have them. not a major oversight, but it would have been nice. maybe they didn't think we deserve them down under

I found this helmet to fit my head perfectly. But, funny enough I have a Bell Qualifier that is way cheaper and feels much better in the highway. The Arai has a great fit, unlike the Bell which squeezes my cheeks like crazy. Yet, I find the Arai to give me neck pain after a couple of hours of riding. May be just me. I really like the helmet overall though.

Yanier Olivera strange that it gives you pains, how long have you had it for? Can't say I've had that problem, but is heavier than some helmets which could contribute to that. I love the arai fit, we must have similar shaped heads 😂

I have a big round head. I've had the helmet for about 3 months.

Did you get a pinlock lens with yours? I didn’t with mine and heard conflicting yes or no we don’t?? Otherwise I love mine, Cheers

It did, but its terrible! It nearly never locks properly

This, or the AGV AX-8 Naked for a 2012 Z1000? Nice bike and nice ride by the way. :)

thanks mate, glad you like it. it's a tough one between those two. I think the agv is slightly lighter with similar comfort and noise levels (a little bit noisier than some) but takes the cake in the looks department. I personally think it looks badass, unfortunately I wasn't able to try one on or see one in the flesh before getting mine

+Curtis “OnTheBackWheel” Smith yeah it looks so badass. That's the reason it caught my eye. Was choosing between the icon airmada, ls2 arrow, scorpion r2000, arai defiant, and the agv ax8 naked. I hope it's at least decent in performance cus I think it looks perfect on my z1000. :)

How would you describe the head shape of the Defiant? Long, intermediate, round oval?
