In this video, we dig deep into the reality of relief efforts after Hurricane Helene. The aftermath is brutal, and logistics are a major hurdle that needs more than just good intentions-it requires skill and training. We’re here to show how leadership and proper management are critical in times like this. If you’re not trained for disaster response, the best way to help is to donate or join an organized effort. We also highlight how offering labor, moving supplies, and joining volunteer teams are practical ways to support recovery. People are posting all over lies about hurricane Helene and how FEMA is taking supplies from everyone. We haven’t seen that personally but have great groups that we’ve been working with directly who said they have as well as one very trusted contact say he was there when FEMA started taking supplies. I will also share that one small town was happy when FEMA arrived. That’s the only report we received from 10 plus that said they had terrible experiences with them and national guard. . #survivalskills #manskills #survival #emergencypreparedness #onthree #survivalgear #selfreliance #hurricanehelene2024 #firstaid

Want to help? As temperatures drop to 40 degrees at night, we’re shifting focus on gathering essential cold-weather supplies like propane heaters, heavy blankets, buddy heaters, warm clothing for all ages, beanies, gloves, and hot hands warmers. Your donations allow us to provide the specific items locals need. You can donate here to support these efforts: www.usmensacademy.com. If you’d like to contribute directly to support my personal missions, which have required me to take significant time off work, you can also do so here by contacting me on IG @jasonleesurvival Every bit helps, and I greatly appreciate your support during this time.

Many of us want to give but are reluctant to do so bc of reports of FEMA seizing stuff. How can we know our donations will get where they're needed? I'm trying to find places where they are boots on the ground, directly distributing to people, and not just to an indefinite holding place. Is cash best?

Many donations but also the need is so great and will be ongoing. Thanks to all for the prayers. Please continue to pray for us. Thanks also to all that have sent and brought donations, came from other states with atvs to get to the regions that are not accessible by autos. Private helicopters making drops and rescues. Quit your BS! National Guard, FEMA and Army are all on the ground doing everything they can. They always start in the major population centers and work out from there. Why? Because it is the major population centers that have the core infrastructure needed to keep civilization going. Once these areas have electricity, food, shelter, those from the surrounding areas can more easily access these necessities, particularly if they need to be evacuated from where they are currently. This is how it is in EVERY major disaster. I know you just hung up your COVID expert hat, but sit back. Oh yeah, the orange R@pist is just so much better. The fact he wants to cut government agencies like FEMA and NOAA, would have made this soooo much better. Quit your BS and let the adults handle this! You know damn well every politician does an arial survey of disaster areas. If they don't they are criticized for "not caring." If they do, they are criticized for "getting in the way". Which do you want? Being a hypocrite is part of the republican moto! Unless you can blame someone for YOUR problems, life just isn't fair!

Im in WNC and I’ve been saying that it’s so much bigger than Asheville! So important to focus on what’s all around Asheville for at least 100 miles in all directions. We had a lot of people evacuate Florida to come here. With another storm coming, it’s important to let people know the blue ridge parkway and so much is closed. I tried posting in some westher channels and people replied with where should we go? Well, there’s Alabama. Anywhere thst you can get a hotel, grocery stores have food and gas etc. I think many will come here to the smokies to evacuate again and we will not be able to accommodate them. Please spread the word for the need to let evacuees know… Ingles geocery store only has 1 distribution center and it’s in Asheville/ all the stores in WNC began to run out immediately. If you insist on coming, bring food with you and cash etc.

I am part of this team and want to be very clear. We PERSONALLY haven’t had resistance from any local cops or firefighters. They’ve been very helpful. Locals are annoyed with all the sightseers so please don’t go to these communities to just take photos and videos. We weren’t going to film until we were told to get the truth out. We’ve been all over helping. The only major government hindrance was when helicopters that were delivering supplies all day (s) got stopped for hours by two specific people who did nothing in the field but steal valuable air time and stopped aid from going out. Most people that we spoke to weren’t happy with F£MA but there was a town that was very grateful for them being there. Others were very upset that they were taking their supplies to do with it as they see fit.

This is when alternative living structures should be allowed : Yurts or lotus bell tents can be heavy duty and easily constructed as temporary structures once their properties are cleared . And yes before any know it alls in the comment post , yurts were used in the harshest winter climates imaginable ( mongolians ) 🎉

This whole area of the USA( which is the size of at least 4-5 European nations), is very hilly/ mountainous. It is rocky ground with a relatively thin layer of soil. The area is heavily wooded & overlaid with numerous rivers, streams, waterfalls, springs & lakes. Folks have lived here for generations. Gullies & ravines cut through the area & were the first to be settled . 30" of rain, high water tables, rocky slopes, narrow valleys....a recipe for disaster as we can see.

The worst thing you can do is go into an area like this to sight see. Stay out!! I went through a devastating flood in 2008, and we had rich people driving their kids through, looking at us like we had Christmas lights on our homes. Or worse. We had people stop and go through the huge pile that was our lives of damaged goods. Hoping to find something good. Like vultures. Looters even came in and scrapped the copper plumbing. If you are not going to help, stay out of the area. You become part of the problem, crowding the roads. And the locals might actually become violent. We saw that happen a few times. Help or stay away.

@@terririvera6764 every day all day. We live in an area that is one road in and one road out. The water stops you from just passing through. There would be no reason to drive down the road unless it was your destination. You would have to turn around and go back the way you came to leave so it's not like you would drive through here to get to somewhere else. People literally hanging video cameras and phones out the car window while stopped in front of your property WATCHING you sort through what's left and taking video and photos like you are an animal in a drive through safari park. NOT asking if tgey can help with anything. Not that we needed their help. We know we live where hurricanes happen so we had plenty water and MRE's. But they didn't come to offer help to the people who weren't as prepared. They came to photograph the misery of others while treating us like we weren't human beings who were going through something stressful. They didn't care if they were adding to the stress or anxiety of others. I don't think they mean anything by it. They just don't THINK or use their brains. They are amazed at the sheer devastation of the community but they aren't thinking about the PEOPLE. They are looking at the empty stilts that used to have houses on top. They are looking at the piles of debris. They are looking at the dead horses caught up in tree tops all bloated and dead. They look right through the human beings. I wouldn't mind so much if they just took photos of the destruction on property where there was no people but to sit right in front of someone's property and video them while they try to figure out what to do or while they walk around picking through debris looking for ANYTHING they can salvage is just so out of touch with common decency. We still had the top floor of our house but I think there was only one other house still standing in our community. It was total devastation. I wouldn't even talk to the media. They kept rolling through wanting to get people whining and crying for their ratings. I told them to get off my property and don't come back as well. We didn't have time for their foolishness. We didn't want sympathy. We just wanted to be left alone to clean up our property. Neil Diamond built 14 houses for people in our community who didn't have the financial capability to rebuild because they were on a fixed income and had owned their homes but would never be able to afford to rebuild. Volunteers from a Mennonite community up north came and slept on cots and the ground at a local church and helped people clean up their property. We had many good people come and volunteer. I still appreciate and remain in contact with some. They brought cameras BUT they gave them to the children in the community so they could go around taking photos of how they saw things and how things affected them. One of the men put the photos the kids took in a book with family recipes they submitted. It was good therapy for the kids and a good distraction for them. There was something they could DO. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to also ad some positives. It might be a good idea for someone to pass out disposable cameras to the kids in these Helene affected areas. It's interesting to see the kids perspective of things and how things affect them.

Is it feasible/ possible to strip those trees and build them rudimentary log cabins with a wood burning stove for heat and cooking and a root cellar for storing any food materials? At least through the coming fall and winter, until these people can rebuild?

Praying continually for those suffering and the people volunteering and working to help all those in need. Bless the entire community effort and all on the ground workers who give their time and talent of hard work and compassion here. We are truly One nation under God and this makes me grateful that these people are working together in ways beyond government.

If you are coming to help, bring several pairs of heavy-duty work-gloves with you. Leather gloves. Sold at Harbor Freight, Big Box lumber/remodeling stores like Home Depot and Lowes, and possibly Walmart. Expect to be assigned laborer-type work, unless you have some other skill or have equipment in demand.

that's a very good idea, I shiver to think what these precious souls have went through and witnessed. They are gonna need a lot of pray and lots and lots of being loved up on. God bless you.

I bought a Schleich dinosaur for a dinosaur loving kid. I figure it will stay cleaner than a stuffed toy, and Schleich animals are very high quality. I don't have much money, but I will keep sending down what I can.

I need to get in touch with either the gentleman you spoke with at the rear of the truck, or the lady you spoke to towards the end of the video. From Va and working my way down from Damascus, experienced, skilled, resourceful. RLTW

Hope waves of folks can continue for months to help assist, console, help guide and build temp shelter and services. Needs to be a "national service" area for all for quite a while, with it providing jobs. BTW the 750.00 is for immediate cash in hand. No credit and debit services. People need to buy what they are able too for immediate needs. Like now needs. Alot of twisted info out there. It's a catastrophe not a clean up after a derby car show. We appreciate the good and informative videos. Lots of towns and cities sending aid. From "cousins"😊 in the northeast. We got you!

Some churches stood their ground with FEMA and told them NO! They weren't taking donations from their community. Told by lady that lost her home, she could get some aid then she was presented with a paper to sign over her property to FEMA. She pushed it back and told them she could do without their help. Stand strong Americans...it will work out.
