Judge DeGerolami I am really disappointed in your decision today. Those so called parents will never change. An estimated 1,750 children died from abuse and neglect during fiscal year 2020. How can this happen! Because in many cases they send the abused kids back to their abusers. This hearing has me in tears, no child should ever have to suffer like this.

She didn't say "no way, denied forever". She said "hold on, not quite yet, let's wait a couple months". Like, no rushing to judgement, these things are going to take time. I completely understand how you feel about the case, though. Like, why don't they just terminate rights, now that this happened for the fourth time (for the older kid(s))? Still, that process takes a while.

There's drama, and there's a healthy, inbuilt, innate, God-given if you will or won't, righteous, outrage and anger that's telling you to speak up now- something truly horrendous is being allowed to happen to a little person who has no voice of their own- only a need to love and be loved by the significant carer in their little life. That outrage is visceral and physical, it happens in my throat area and I've seen others grab at their stomachs in response to this atrocity and injustice. You have that loud voice for an extremely crucial reason, you won't let it go when hundreds might drop away in apathy or fear of the father or other reprisal. May the drama live on (in you and all of us), unimpeded, encouraged, and nourished , ma'am.

I hate being right sometimes… when the Dr said she was the size of a 15 month old I thought “psychosocial dwarfism”…. That’s what happened to “Genie the Feral Child” (the pseudonym that the public was given). HUGE HUGE trigger warning if you’re not familiar with that case… it’s considered the worst case of child neglect on record. When she was rescued, the social workers thought she was 6-7 years old and on the spectrum… they were shocked to learn she was 13 years old

I’m glad I’m not a CPS worker. That father would have been the one needing EMS! As a nurse for over 40 years I’ve seen far too many abused children. My blood boils when this happens. Unfortunately as a nurse, we never know the outcome. Once they leave the hospital, that’s all we know.

No, what she is doing is putting those kids in an environment where they will learn to be like the parents... a whole new crop of sociopaths. Judge said it was a difficult decision... no it's not. I get you’re upset, we’re all upset, this is a disgusting display of two horrible individuals who don’t deserve the title of “parent”; (OSG did the right thing calling them “birther” and “sperm giver”). The original comment is mostly accurate, after repeated similar abuse, the next level above what has happened, is quite possibly the death of one or more of these kids. That said, the judge DID NOT give these kids back to either parent, she simply held out the ability for the parents to be offered CPS services that MAY allow the eventual reunification of the family. Let’s be honest though folks, as Squishy said near the end, those babies are NEVER EVER going to be returned to either parent!! The other reality is, both of these scumbags are in their way to prison - no way this sperm giver is not going to be charged, convicted and sentenced… that’s clear as can be; obviously the evidence and case is in process, but he’s going to be sharing some cell time with “Bubba” and hopefully getting the “find out” part of the popular “f^%k around & find out” movement. I think the judge didn’t want to rule as she did, but this looks more like a case of ensuring it’s all APPEAL PROOF! She’s not cutting off any area where some (other) non-ethical POS lawyer may be able to claim their client (either XX or XY chromosome holder) had their rights trampled. I am a therapist who has worked primarily with children and teens and I am disgusted by this ruling. Between judges like this, lack of action from CPS and horrid parents I no longer do this work. It really is a shame because the kids need the support, but the system is so terribly broken.

@@kathyaddison1896 it's weird how this case really affected me, I've been thinking about the lawyers and really trying to put myself in their shoes, but I can't, I'm a person that stands on my belief and principles and have gone to jail over a word on a sign at a rally for saving children (yes, that really happened, a word) and I would do it again, I work in conjunction with the underground railroad for saving children and ending human trafficking and maybe it's that reason but I could never waiver in my beliefs and essentially lie, that's what I feel the lawyers are doing, you know if they are decent human beings that abuse is not okay, and this is something that would apply to everyone who committed heinous acts and has a lawyer, I just couldn't do it, I mean, I guess it's great that we all have a right to it... That child was tied to something standing up. Her legs and feet were terribly swollen from being forced to stand many hours. She was so malnourished she was almost dead and this judge gave the family another chance. They should appeal it immediately. I’m with you!!

Sperm donor’s lawyer is having an extremely difficult time trying to come up with questions that donor might be able to learn or that perhaps she sustained all those injuries and deficiencies accidentally. I totally understand everyone's response hearing the testimony regarding the horrible abuse of the children. I believe the judge is also being careful to follow the law. The children are safe, they are being cared for. It's appropriate to further investigatie what had happened. I wish the would investigate why the children were left in the home previously. Because when CPS or a pediatrician makes a mistake, it is not tracked and rarely publicized.

OK. I understand where Judge DeGerolami is coming from. She's not giving them time to get the children back- she's giving them additional time to further hang themselves. This judgement was difficult for her, but she gave it to remove loopholes for birth-hole and spermwad to wiggle through in the future. That's my opinion. This is a very intelligent and empathetic judge who is looking down the road to keep these children safe.

Thank you so much for always putting out unseen court footage. I find on YT there are a lot of repetition with the videos. You could see the judge being so upset having to make that decision. She has to make sure to cover all of her basis so these children can have a fair chance in life. This is the most horrible case, I have ever heard and that cowered of a mother. She was able to leave the home safely, but yet her 5 children were left with that monster. Preventing the growth of a child because you choose to neglect this poor little kid. Life in prison would be too good for the both of them, but unfortunately they will be out again and be able to abuse more children.

I think the decision is to perhaps make the trial's outcome super solid to avoid appeal? I feel like sometimes they are considering what a higher court might do when they make decisions I don't understand. I am going to predict they won't even get as far as visits before trial. Now I'm going to watch the next one to see if mom ever returned...

I call BS on the mother!! I was in an abusive marriage for many years! As soon as my ex turned on the kids, I LEFT!!! I was in a very vulnerable position. I was beaten down and felt unable to fight back so I left WITH MY KIDS!!

I think DFPS removes children and opens cases too often, and I think they set the bar for reunification unconstitutionally high (not necessarily on paper, but when it comes down to brass tacks). I think the field of child abuse pediatrics is dangerous, because, even in it's short history, there are _many_ examples of doctors and nurses in the field becoming hammers in search of nails. (I also think it deters _regular_ parents from seeking medical treatment as soon as they should in areas where a hospital has a well-known child abuse pediatric team.) _However..._ I cannot fathom what the judge is thinking here. Perhaps the use of the word "neglect" colored her opinion improperly. Neglect, even severe neglect, _can_ be properly remediated in _many_ cases. This was more than mere neglect; it was punitive. Being forced to stand, having food withheld -- and I'd venture to guess not changing the diaper, as well. This father is _malicious,_ not incapable. You cannot remediate malice, and where it exists to this degree, it _is_ too harmful to allow children in the home.

As a survivor of ST I just want to say Thank You for what you do. What you do matters. What’s crazy to me is. I was prescribed narcotics while pregnant.I’ve never had a run in with cps not even a complaint. These people were really trying to take my kid. I can’t believe this judge!! What is wrong with her? You’re right; I am pissed beyond belief. Her lack of understanding of the abuse medically and the long term affects is evident. They were tortured over a long period of time. Her bones have holes/are like honeycomb. That’s what severe osteopenia is. Psychosocial Dwarfism is extremely serious. She will also have lifelong psychological manifestations because of the torture at such an early age. I am a retired Family Nurse Practitioner.

These sweet children 😭my Righteous Indignation is fuming. If those were my grandchildren, I would have fought hell to rescue them. I can understand the fog in the mind that confuses women to stay longer than we should in DV marriage - However, as a mother, First instinct is to protect your children and not leave them with your abuser- these children should never be returned to this mom or dad! I pray CPS uses every tool they have to protect these children. Horrible what these poor babies have endured. My baby girl was 2 months old when I left an 8 year violent marriage at 3am on a freezing winter night. It was the 1st time since she was born that he went into one of his rages, was drinking, passed out afterwards. I wrapped my precious baby warm, grabbed her diaper bag, put her in a car seat and left in my pajamas-I left the state, because I had left 3 years before she was born, had put TPO on him and it did nothing to protect me, he never got arrested when I called to report him, and only made him worse; when he found out where I lived, he shot a friend of mine in the arm who was helping me work on a old house, I had rented; my ex crashed through a window, when he couldn’t breakdown or shoot through 2 deadbolts, and other security on the thick solid wood doors. As I was hiding, praying, I heard sirens of the police. My ex got a good attorney, served no time and continued to stalk and harass me until I returned. The few months I did live away from him, I borrowed a pistol, refreshed my safety & shooting skills I learned during my teenage years that my granddad taught me. I was prepared to shoot him if he had tried to harm us as I got us out. Only one time did I see him after I left, and let him know with my equalizer in hand, I was going to live to raise my baby, and I best not see him again, and I didn’t. That was 42 years ago. This case with these children is a perfect example of satan filled people on earth(John 10:10-11) I pray the rescue of all children being abused & placed in loving homes with loving people who know, that children are the greatest gift the Lord gives to us.

Wow. This judge should be booted out immediately. Social media should blast this case and her findings. Unbelievable. Infuriating. She should not be on any case ever again. WTF on earth was this horrible judge thinking? She is wrong, this is so so wrong.

I have been so curious about, "Psychosocial dwarfism since watching this case. There are several YT videos on the subject. There is a video called. "Psychosocial Short Stature" that is especially interesting and easy to understand by nonmedical people. It seems that when a child is not emotionally cared for they suffer from lack of growth hormones levels. Interestingly, sometimes it can be reversed when removed from stressful neglectful enviroment at prepubescent age. Often females who suffer with this, they cannot reproduce. Fascinating.

I sat listening to this watching my sweet 2 yr old daughter and 3 yr old son sleep peacefully. I cannot understand how anyone could do these things. I have a sick feeling and I sincerely hope they never get these kids back. Usually I think CPS is too quick to remove and or terminate but this case is a true removal and termination case.

I hate the number of times they allow parents to do services....return children ...these poor children have not been cared for appropriately...they haven't received medical care..and have been abused....the parents have been receiving care and services X3!!!!! Its outrageous. Already the peadiatrician commented on the vulgar language the little girl was using...

I listened to this a few times. I didn’t want to miss any details. Mom escapes the hell her children lived in, yet she did NOTHING to get the kids out? I don’t believe for a single second that Mom would’ve played the victim like she did, if CPS hadn’t shown up. If someone were abusing me and my kids, you can bet I’m not leaving my kids behind. No matter what, I’m not leaving my kids. Mom is a liar, who plays victim now that the abuse was found out, and the kids rescued. As far as Dad, he should never be allowed to see the children again - ever. Severe neglect caused psycho social dwarfism? I didn’t even know that was a thing, That neglect can cause dwarfism!

I've never been impressed with this Judge, but she's gone above and beyond what even I ever expected from her. For all her profoundly this's and disturbing thats- she had a great big "BUT" waiting for us at the end. "BUT-" she doesn't want to send this to trial because- why not? She offered no substance and gave no substantial reason why not, but most importantly, as to why she wants to aĺow the parents to go back to do services and have another chance to wreak carnage and fatal neglect on the four kids. The father's not just a tired, overworked dad- he's a psychotic who ties kids up, beats them with belts, and just doesn't feed them. At all. Unless it's probably his own takeaway food scraps. This Judge is all talk, to cover some political agenda. It leaves me sick.

I rewarded this because I thought I might have missed something. I just want to say at the very end of testimony mom's Lawyer was drilling the CPS investigator supervisor.... She kept asking. "Isn't it true mom saw the abuse and acted to save her daughter at that moment.. Nope she re-acted to the abuse she saw. Beating up dad didn't help protect the daughter... She was probably high AF and wasn't thinking straight. Her actions of hitting dad wasn't to protect her daughter. My guess is mom was high AF on He-man. I'm still assuming there is something in the file we didn't get to hear about that made Judge Melissa make her ruling.

My granddaughter is tiny for 18 months old. Her mother took her to a pediatrician. She's like a doll. But she's not malnourished or deficient in anything. Especially when you factor in her dad isn't a tall man. His parents are also on the shorter side. She has hit all of her milestones for her age. Even exceeding them. Clearly the child they are talking about, is malnourished and abused.

This comment is strictly just to say how sleezy the states lawyers can get. I’m so tired of watching them ask questions that they know aren’t legally allowed. If you truly want to win your case? Then make sure you have all the witnesses so that you don’t ask questions you know you can’t. They constantly try to slip questions in that should be asked but don’t do it legally. Do your job not a half ass one.

By the grace of God one of these children where not killed. What a shame that some parents don’t understand what a blessing children are. So sad and disgusting. I pray they get placed into loving homes so they have a chance to have a normal, healthy life. I was removed from my parents when I was 6 years old. I’m in my 50’s and STILL deal with it. It doesn’t go away. The damage these parents have done is permanent.
