Good work Dan! I’ve used OnX for a few years now. Downloaded BaseMaps a few months ago. I need to spend more time with it to get proficient. OnX has been so user friendly, but BM seems like it has more potential. I’m looking forward to the mobile review.

Just a heads up for anyone who is looking to get all 50 states for OnX. You can buy either one state for $18 or all 50 for $59 on Camofire. Just a way to cut down on the cost.

Love the video and my Basemaps but in the next one can you talk about the offline use for both apps I feel like Basemaps one huge weak point is the one layer option for cached maps vs onX has topo, sat, and hybrid when you cache any map for offline use.

Basemap is higher resolution. When you have cell phone or wifi service. It looks great!! But when you go to download an offline map. It's shity resolution. Because they don't have the Google imagery license. Trust me I have first hand experience with this! Try it for your self. I'm staying with OnX it's clearer on there offline maps. And you can actually label waypoints with what ever color you choose unlike Basemap.

Decided not to do the mobile video - in conclusion basemap has more advanced features to find things, but the user interface takes a bit longer to get used to. Both are great products. Basemap costs significantly less, TC

So going on an atv trip in Idaho and will have no service. Considering onX but now I’m thinking basecamp. Can I pretrip my route and they be there to use after going off line? This is fir a week. So a new route everyday. Is the Price $30 for all 50 for the year? Also can you share this app account with others as well? Does it cost everyone? Thanks

Did basemap have the offline feature? Maybe i missed it. I have the 15/month onx sub and i love onx but when zooming in the resolution def goes to shit. Have to check out basemap now. Thanks Dan! As always informative useful real world content.

How often do these maps update? I appreciate the image quality but you said yourself that it is old imagery, that can only be so useful for so long and then it is basically obsolete without updating essentially making the image quality a moot point I believe. Now if it is updated regularly then it looks hands down the better option, the only thing to consider at that point is the learning curve of each and the ease of use on the fly.

BEWARE...I subscribed to Basemap in 12/2022 based on reviews like this. I am currently trying to get a refund. Imo this is inaccurate. Where I live in Pennsylvania, Basemap's property maps are over 10 years old.... Is just wrong. I tried to contact them to see what's up and I was told that they do the best they can with whatever vendors they get their info from. This is unacceptable. OnX in comparison included all of my new neighbors. If I can't trust them with this I will not trust them in general. Just test it for yourself. Pay better attention than I did.
