I have always loved this song, "Its Just a Matter of Time" and his other hit song "Forever and Ever, Amen"(you check that out too)that were released in 1989 and 1987 respectively. When Randy Travis first came on the scene,he was part of the Neo Country music movement that started in the 1980s that featured such artists as The Judds,K.D. Lang,Alan Jackson , Garth Brooks,Brooks and Dunn and many more. It has such a nice melody and beautiful lyrics.Randy Travis has a wonderful voice that is perfectly suited for Country music and I loved this cover version recording of Brook Benton''s "It's Just a Matter of Time".If you haven't heard Brook Benton's original version you check it out.He recorded it as part of a Rock n' Roll and R&B 10 song collection album entitled "Rock,Rhythm & Blues" and was included in his album entitled "No Holdin' Back". Like the woman he sings about in this song, I will always love it "forever and forever ".

@@FKA_Skull I will sincerely apologise for automatically believing KZbin posts. I have just done a little search, hence my apology. I pray he continues to live on for a long, long time.

@@FKA_Skull What is dead - is Randy's ability to make songs that we all need and love. Please pray for Randy to recover from his stroke.

Yes I remember it being part of a 10 song album collection put together by record producer Jimmy Iovine that featured cover versions of songs from the 1950s called "Rock, Rhythm and Blues" that were sung by notable contemporary artists . I bought the CD when it came out based on the strength of this song and video. It was Randy Travis's recording of this song and "Forever and Ever,Amen " that made me a fan of his.
