Voja (with a break of his heart as he said) changed Remarkable 2 on Onyx Boox Noter Air... but he is using Remarkable stylus for it - in his opinion i'ts so much better. To be honest, I've just ordered onyx - If I'll like it more for my company, I'll send them back remarkable (they said I have 30days for it), even if I love it so much (I've just received it) and it is really amazing device so it's almost hard to believe how you've crushed it in this video :D. The reason why I bought the reMarkable 1 back then was because I thought having more functions would distract me from my studies. That's also why I preordered the rM2. But I am more and more questioning, if that was actually the right decision... Because now I always need my reMarkable and a tablet to access everything study related, but with this, I could do that all on the same device... It's getting hard to justify paying more or less the same price for a device, that has less functions that I need to compensate somehow.

I came to that same conclusion a while back too. When I finally figured that I needed an e-reader/writer for all the note taking I do, along my research I ending up of changing my view of how I will utilize such a device. While "no-distraction" is the goal, in reality I ended up having to access other areas that forced me to use tablets, pc, etc. It's nice having one device that is a e-reader/writer but gives you the options for so much more.

Did you put on the screen protector? Does it still function normally with it? If there is no screen protector, did you see any scrape and whatnot? I wish My Deep Guide gets his.

Just an FYI, I think you mean g-sensor or accelerator instead of gyroscope for auto-rotation. Also, did you check to see if pinch-to-zoom is enabled in general settings menu while the pdf is opened? On the Onyx Boox Note 2, the setting can be found by touching the center of the pdf in neoreader, touch the menu (3 horizontal bars icon in the upper right corner) , touch settings, then touch general settings, then touch "Enable Pinch-to-Zoom" to select the checkbox.

Just another FYI, Voja from My Deep Guide was using pinch-to-zoom during the Onyx Lumi review. Since both the Lumi and the Note Air use the same version firmware, I am pretty sure that the Note Air would have pinch-to-zoom feature also. As I mentioned before, I think in this review he did not have the feature enabled.

Just an update. I have the Note Air now and can confirm it does have pinch-to-zoom. It is off by default. You can turn it on based on my earlier post. It's under the same settings as the Boox Note 2.

If you download an Adobe PDF file, can you change font size on the reader? I have the Remarkable 1. When I download a PDF file to read and annotate, the font size comes out too small for me to comfortably read and review. Or, should I be looking at the Max Lumi instead? Thanks!

Thank you for the first review on the Note Air. But please, be more critical about it: what does it feel like writing on its screen compared eg with RM2, Max Lumi's screen, the different pencils. How glossy is the glass, how is syncing btw devices? Does the new pen have a side button or rather any other functionality besides not having the eraser function? I’ve just bought a note air, everything seems to work fine but I’m not sure about the charging: is it normal that it is very slow (10 hours 10%, while never using it)? Agreed. A review probably would have mentioned that the device has less storage than the Note 2, less RAM, 30% less battery capacity, all while being 10% heavier. I mean it looks nice but those are some serious downgrades!

I bought a Boox Nova Pro for my japanese studies and it works ok except for one "little" problem. All fonts are bolded in my 3rd party apps (something that is anoying for Latin letters but makes Chinese and Japanese characters borderline unreadable). Is this a problem with all boox e readers? (Onys have said that they are working on a firmware update for my device, but last time I saw them answering questions about it was at the beginning of 2020)

You're tapping your finger on the screen to activate buttons and drag text around. Does that imply that no special pen is needed? Also, you hold the pen like a paintbrush... are you avoiding contact between your hand and the screen surface? How does this interact with a host computer?... can you transfer files without intermediary cloud software (Dropbox, etc.)? Can drawing on the Boox be shown live on the computer? Thanks.

Can you "pin" specific notes to the home screen? I use a Samsung Tab S6...love it but want an e-ink device to remove eye strain and ability to view outdoors. Samsung Notes is great and I can pin most used notes to the home screen to open directly to them as needed.

I would keep the pen Samsung pen that comes with the Tab S6 lite as it is a much better pen than any Onyx pen you can buy. I know this because I had to purchase the S6 because of the build quality of Onyx products.

Same. Sadly it's way to early for this market, it's much more an experimental time for the color e-note devices. I belive I read that the color isn't interchangeable - yet from monochrome to color. I'm buying the air 1 as of now, but definitely waiting a while for the color to be super revamped $$
