The only reviewer who is negative on this device. 😂 Many people don't want a front light because it adds distance between the glass and ink layer. Boox has devices with front lights, so if that's what you want, then a note air 3 would be your choice. They're going for the remarkable crowd and taking advantage that remarkable had not updated their hardware in 4 years. And no need for an eraser. You can scratch out any mistakes and they'll erase. Much quicker than flipping a pen around. I got the device yesterday and love it. The screen is awesome, the device is speedy, and it does everything it says if does. I also have a scribe and a note air 3c.

@Telhias2 ай бұрын
@@jojox1733 It means that you won't be able to use the device in the dark. Just like backlight in normal screens lights it from behind a front light is a light that shines on top of your display. It requires a gap between the display itself and the screen which makes the screen appear darker when not using said light. If you are using your device like a normal book then a front light is just a hindrance. On the other hand if you like watching a bright screen in the darkness then it is a must have. You just may have to keep it on even in brighter conditions to counter the darkening of the screen.

No glow light is a massive advantage to me. It gets the thing that much closer to real paper. Not to mention saving up the power. Which is invaluable for productivity. If I wanted a constant dazzle straight into my face like a harsh interrogation I could always grab the likes of iPad. 😊

I'm so grateful that companies are still innovating in the e-ink style display world. Seriously. I really think this technology has been way ahead of its time for a long time and we're inching closer to a more eye-conscious, low-power-consumption world. I think these types of devices will be far more integrated to our day to day, one day. I'd love this style of display in my car, for instance. Every time I see these types of displays in person, I can't believe how great they are and I can't believe how much the devices have improved even in the past 4 years.

Cannot fully agree with the reviewer. Go is not trying to be the best of both worlds, it is a very clearly positioned device, a new category for Onyx. Hance the new subbrand. I was very pissed about the lights at first, but then I got it. Onyx is building what a remarkable 2 should have been: an open platform, paper notes first device. They removed the lights not to shave off the price, but by design. They wanted it to be super thin and super close to paper. Remarkable is closer to writing on sand paper, I was actually told in a classroom my "scratching" was too loud. So considering Onyx' experience and platform maturity, they nearly nailed it. I am surprised about a meh-pen though. I believe you can use Lamy or other 3rd party pens, but still weird. I am excited to get my Go asap :)

They have a feature packed highest possible level of Android Google Play enabled tablet with the foresight to put multiple speed modes, and app management for each respective speed mode They have stereo speakers, anti-flicker toggles for videos, and dual microphones But they also have promoted this product as a simplistic device So no, we are correct, they have launched this device with the intention of getting the best of both worlds If not, then there is no reason to have Google play, play books, speed modes, video refinement features, etc, there would be no need for those
@yuyaku12702 ай бұрын
@@goodereaderI understand, but Google play full support and their own refresh rates are their differentiators as a Boox brand. Not having that in their new products would confuse the customers about the brand. And having that, with the Go line they want to make clean, more simple product. Keeping their differentiators. And clearly taking on rmkbl here :) I am sure there will be more sophisticated laptop-like devices soon, under the Tab brand.

No front light is not a big deal at all if your primary use case is writing rather than reading. I won't be writing in the dark, so this is as close to my use case as is currently available.

In fact, removing the glowlight makes a lot of sense for those who want good writing experience. There's a great deal of paralax on Air 3C and others Airs that have glowlight.
