This is what you call “art”. There’s no such thing as too much or too little. Art doesn’t exit inside a box. I really enjoyed this!

1 Thousand Subscribers No Video if high school kids are old enough to watch PG-13 movies then they can handle watching a show like this. No one is forcing them to watch it. Censorship is toxic.
@PrinceTYLR5 жыл бұрын
1 Thousand Subscribers No Video doesn’t matter what age you are people see half naked people all the time. Like I said if their parents don’t allow them to see it that’s their choice. It’s not right for society to censor their art just to satisfy certain groups. They know they’re watching an independent group and not a scholastic group.

1 Thousand Subscribers No Video onyx is independent honey boo boo 😂 well I guess people should stop taking kids to water parks and beaches cuz there is nothing but people in bikinis and Speedo’s so I guess that’s considered porn also cuz there only a piece of clothing from being naked 💁🏼♀️ and it’s only uncomfortable because you’ve been conditioned to think that way. Typical American way thinking lmfao
@PrinceTYLR5 жыл бұрын
1 Thousand Subscribers No Video 😆 honey... Onyx is an independent group competing in the independent world class and yes it’s a paid show so it’s a choice to see the show or not. And if you don’t like it then get up and leave it’s simple. And nobody said you were American. I was referring to that way of thinking is very American.

@chloekilgore53904 жыл бұрын
it’s not really “about” anything. it’s sticking it to the man and breaking all of the rules that WGI has

The show is heavily inspired by Dada an absurdist art movement. The show essentially satirizes the conventions of color guard: utilizing equipment in unconventional ways like when they use the rifles as legs of a table and also put the shoes on the rifles continuing the motif of the rifles as legs, the tarp that is never unfolded and used as a prop, the baton soloist that never does a toss, the flags that are used as clotheslines, and of course the mockery of gender conventions.

it was genuinely about just being as bizarre they can be, years before they were told that they did the same thing every year, so they attempted to stray as far away from that as possible

If it was a high school definitely. But this is independent world class these are mature performers. I don’t think anything is “too much”

@@Briellewatts Exactly I can see where it might be "too much" but this is performance art and its expressive well done by these mature performers

yeah and let it be too much;-) no validation needed. highly conceptual performance art. just take it with evwrything or dont.

Actually, I enjoy everything about it. I believe some of you are overthinking this. I believe the show's title reflects its theme. They performed everything you wouldn't usually see in a colour guard show, including cutting their flags and putting on underwear and I don't think this reflects on their team being regarded as a "gay colour guard" group, but instead just a "colour guard," and while there may be some lgbtq+ members on their show, it doesn't rule out heterosexual males and girls as well. I believe this is ideal.
