My dad was a victim of domestic abuse by his ex-wife, but in court he couldn't keep his children, my half sisters because he wasn't believed since he is quite a tall, strong guy. That woman is the reason I've never met my sisters or my nephews. It's so sad to see someone else experience abuse and experiencing the stereotype that a man can't be abused. But I'm sort of glad, since all the attention will probably shine a light on the stereotype.
