I learned about the Stanford prison experiment not too long ago and they're doing the ONE THING they're not supposed to do. In the original experiment, the guards were not allowed to use physical violence/intimidation against the inmates for obvious reasons like the paintball thing Caleb mentioned (so no weapons or hitting or anything). However, here they are very clearly using violence and weapons (paintgun) against the inmates, which could easily result in lawsuits or even phone calls to police. So in reality, they aren't really doing the Stanford Prison Experiment; they're doing some weird demented version of it. Like they can't do this... It's almost like they heard about the experiment, did little research, then went from there...

25:00 that's a fairly common rule for psych places. You're not supposed to have that physical close touch with other patients, because you don't know if it's a trigger for them or not. It may not even be the literal action of hugging thats the trigger but someone that close to your space. So to avoid anyone having a potential set back or deeply triggered you avoid that contact with patients. But obviously if friends or family visits you to check on you you're allowed to hug them.
