Pattern placement - You mention this a lot, and I enjoy your choices and humor when the print ends up quirky in the finished garment. I would like to request videos about pattern placement with examples of pictures of patterns in progress, and/or fails and successes. I can imagine the approach is different with button-up shirts vs circle skirts vs a diagonal drape, and different body types may influence as well.

Gold gown - I actually quite like the slip showing a little. When you move the occasional glimpse of the edge of that rich brown sheen adds a lovely bit of dimension and contrast, so my suggestion is to keep it not tacked down. Scalloped gown - Yes, yes, yes, eliminate the middle tier. I actually don't think the middle tier looks bad (mostly because I didn't realize at first the tiers were separate and overlaid one another, and thought it was instead made like the Encanto skirt), but the lovely dress suddenly became fab-u-lous! when you test lifted the bottom tier. The scallop hem (and the beautiful work you put in) became more apparent in the midi length, and the proportions of the print and silhouette became a dreamy wow. Eye of Ming video - Repeat my 'yes please' vote.

Everything is beautiful. Because, of course it is... _Canadian technology to allow for the wearing of maxi-dresses in winter_ - Turtleneck under the dress. LONG JOHNS - also known as leggings (if it get's really bad out there layer 2 of 'em). Rag wool socks over your stockings (you're wearing boots anyways). Petticoats/slips... I've fallen down a rabbit hole of vintage dress patterns (and I pinky swear I will make every pattern I bought from the 1930's, 40's & 50's). The Grannies had layers under their dresses. Often a full slip and a petticoat combined (that's what helped fluff out those 50's skirts). And you can make that petticoat quilted... I vote 'yes' for a tutorial on that mandala effect patch. It looks amazing. And I'm all about the stash busting. Yes. I don't know how the physics is working on this one - but, yes, the top and the circle dress really go together. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi

The physics on the dress combo: I think maybe the orange inner flame hue is an exact match of the main wax print color 🤓 The physics of winter dressing: guess who got rid of all her turtlenecks when and leggings when it became clear our apartment would always be at least 90 degrees mid winter 🤦🏽‍♀️

We gotta get you out of doll clothes and into your own garments! What I recommend to all sizes is start with something loose. I know boxy can be boring, but it’s a good way to get a sewing win and learn before tackling fitting. “Cashmerette” is an indie company that has a wonderful block for plus sized peeps, and many styles that are fitted and fabulous.
